How did you meet your husband/wife/SO?

I am now going to date myself.......

DH and I met about 16 1/2 years ago. I was a single mom with a then 3 year old DD, bored and tired of the slackers I had been meeting. I felt brave one night and posted a telephone personal ad. DH will tell you that once he heard me using 7 adjectives all beginning with the letter S to describe myself, he knew he had to meet me.

He was working nights at the gas company and connected thru the personal ad system. Once he realized the time ( it was after 11pm on a weeknight), he started stammering and apologizing. It was so sweet and gentleman like that I now had to meet him as well. We spent way too many hours talking on the phone that night and the next night. He had given me his phone number to call him so that he wouldn't have to pay the per minute fee to talk with me. Anyway.... I waited a couple of days to see if he would call back before I would call him. Finally my phone rang and it was the personal ad service with DH wanting to talk to me. Turns out, I never gave him my phone number. What a dimwit I was....

We arranged to meet while DD#1 was at preschool. We met at a local mall on my side of town in front of Aladdin's Castle (an arcade for those that don't know). We had such fun that autumn day. We perused the bookstore and the Halloween store, kinda playing with each other. He ASKED to hold my hand, no one EVER did that!! Then in the fantasy/sci fi section at Waldenbooks, he asked for a kiss. Made this little happy face and asked for a second one, I had to oblige. I knew that day he was the one for me, that I would do anything short of selling my soul or my baby to be with him.

It hasn't always been fun little playdates at the mall or trips to Disney. We have had our struggles both relationally and fiscally. Yet, we know that together we can do anything we set our joint mind to.

I honestly love this man of mine. He is my knight in slightly tarnished and dented armor. I really can't and don't want to ever imagine my life without him by my side.

Yeh, Renee, I was only sorta kidding. I remember my girlfriend asking me the next day what he looked like. I told her "I have no idea". Aahh...those were the days.

I met my current bf on a dating site chatroom. We started talking one on one, 2 months later he came from california to ohio to visit me... he is still here 2 months later.

My hubby and I went to school together for 3 years. I did not even know who is was our school had about 2000 kids. We even had the same friends. We went to school together from 1990-1993. In 1997 I was driving a school bus and had two kids ages 10months and almost 3. I had kids on my bus in the 5th grade. They always joked about cute guys driving passed us. On Dec 18,1997 was the 2nd to the last day before Christmas break I saw this white truck by the bus stop and said"he look at him he is cute and I even like his truck" they all(3of them ) laughed and got off the bus. They started walking. The next day I drove up to the bus stop and there was the truck with him in it. All the kids got on the bus and one of them said " my brother wants me to give this to you" it was a phone number. I called it that night and we talked on the phone for about two hours. That night he came over and we went out shopping at Wal Mart for my kids for christmas. I got to the check out and went to pay and he said "NO I got this" and paid for everything. I wsa thinking how sweet. We spent the next few weeks together and on Jan 21,1998 he said to me What do you think about getting married" I said I dont know how about on your next day off. He said that is tomorrow. So on Jan 22,1998 we got married. WE have been married for 14 years
