Re: Think the coffee makers broken :(
My coffee maker died last month. I may have had it 3 years.
I think I paid close to 100 dollars for it. Boo.
I've been using a french press, but lately it seems not so good. Hopefully there will be a good deal for me on black friday...

Re: Think the coffee makers broken :(
We heat with wood and cook with propane, so even in a power outage, we have the ability to cook/heat. That said, we just have a teapot going at all times with hot water in it. Use a stainless steel french press (Frieling..about $70-$80 last time I checked) so it's unbreakable. Grind our own coffee beans in an antique coffee grinder. I also have some stove top percolaters where you boil the coffee. Takes longer, but hey it works. The metal ones are graniteware type sort of....think they were Coleman/camping types bit are large. Also have a couple of glass stove top percolaters that my mom gave me....I think they're Corningware? Maybe? They're from way back when.
So we can have coffee at any time. I gave up on electric Chinese made ones years ago. They break within a year. I refuse to pay for a new one every year. AAt least with a stovetop or a french press, you have a backup.
