I don't go to those parties because I can't afford the stuff and I hate being pressured to get stuff. I have went a few times in the past and hated it. I would buy something so I wouldn't feel bad but not anymore. And if I had to pay to attend I definitely wouldn't go.

I'd only go if they paid me to come.

I don't go to selling parties anyway...I hate the premise. You can usually buy the same type of thing elsewhere for way cheaper or just go to the website and buy with no pressure.

But as for paying to go listen to why you should buy something...reminds me of the financial and business seminars so popular before the recession. People paid loads of money to learn why the should buy the whole collection of DVDs and CDs in the lobby.

Maybe a couponer could come up with something similar. Charge people to attend a seminar on how to save money, then tout the motivational CDs, the instructional DVDs, the coupon organizer, the stockpile organizing system, and membership to the exclusive website. Sell tshirts and bumper stickers- "Macaela25 saves me money!"

I bet you could fill an auditorium with idiots who would pay to learn how to save money. Then they could all be "regional consultants" and charge more idiots, all with kickbacks to the grand poo-bah of fleecing....er, saving.

The whole idea is up for grabs...I'm too tired for all of the above.

You can find loads of Mary Kay products being sold on ebay. Brand new, unopened packages. Same thing with all these other home-based businesses....scentsy, pampered chef, Silpada jewelry - its all sold on ebay! For a fraction of the price.
