    Default Clothes Shopping....Ugghhhh

Does this happen to any of you? I am a shopping guru, fashionista, just not the TJ Max kind. I love shopping for new clothes (on clearance of course) and I am constantly buying 3 or 4 things that I think are going to look great on me (I hate having to try stuff on in the store), I get home, try it on and nothing looks as good on me as on the hanger... and I end up taking it all back.... does this happen to you to? I really like getting new clothes, just nothing seems to look that great and I rarely keep the finds I come across.

Yes! For awhile I thought I was a professional returner-it felt that everything I bought went back to the store-buyers remorse I guess! lol!

I hate shopping for clothes, I'm probably the only female that I know that really dislike this activity! So, I started going to thrift stores thinking that it would help my wardrobe at least and pacify my mind since I'm saving money! LOL! But, every time I go, I always have 1 or 2 item that fit horribly too tight or too big! Usually end up in the thrift store bag to donate....I can't return these (at least, I don't think I can), our thrift store prices start out at $1.75 on Thursdays and end at .25 on Wednesdays!

I used to be like this- but then I just gave up and started trying things on in store. I now tend to 1) buy less and 2) get something worth my time. I figure, I do it with shoes- so why not clothes?

Now I do shop at some no-return, no-dressing room thrift stores from time to time, but usually I'm not spending more than $5-10 on any given item. It's when I come across a $30-40 dress at Ross that I might really like that I'd feel some remorse if I came home and it didn't look good- even if I could take it back.

I don't think I have ever bought something without trying it on first, and honestly I've always wondered why people buy things out of catalogs cause you can't try it on. To me it it's not worth having to spend an hour to go back to the store to return it all and ending up with nothing, instead of spending that hour trying stuff on and ending up with at least one or two things.

My mother used to shop for us 3 girls from the Popular Club Catalogs mainly because she hated to have to go out in the public I had to wear some hideous looking pants that were like 2-4 inches too short! I am tall and have always been tall and had a really small waist so I really needed to try on the clothes I had to wear. She didn't care I had to wear them anyway I was picked on too! People thought it was funny! When I meet my DH ( I was 14 I was still wearing those awful looking things I eventually started babysitting and started working and bought my own clothes. I remember one of my DH friends saying something really smart remarked to me about my pants not covering my ankles it really made me mad. My Dh was so sweet, He didn't care if my ankles were covered. Then when I stared working he was a couple of years older and he drove and he would drive me nice places so I could buy things that fit me.

Now that I am a mom and just as long as it fits and I am comfy I could almost care less. I don't shop often most comes form second hand stores. Many things I just need to get back down to size to wear. I do make sure my kids are dressed nice and have nice stuff. I would hate to think they are getting picked on at school I know first hand that is no fun!
