Default Quick question about Cats and Food Stamps

I am speaking about coupons today at a place called "The Storks Nest". It is a community place where pregnant women can go and take classes on childcare, nutrition, saving money , ect... For attending they earn points which they can then redeem for diapers, car seats, baby wipes, and things like that.

They can be married, single, I am not sure if there are any income guidelines or not. I know two married women from our church have/are going.

Anyway, FINAllY to my quick question. If you use food stamps do you get back OYNO cats? I know that you can't do GC deals at Target, but I have no idea about the cats. I don't know that any of them are on fs but I don't want to mislead if some are. TIA

In my defense, I will only bid human beings in the auction forum if it's a MM.

LMBO!!I saw 'Cats and foodstamps" and I had a duh moment and thought you meant the animals. I was thinking wth?
Anyway, at my local store which is Country Mart you still get cats when using foodstamps. I think the system issues them based on what you are purchasing not based on how you pay.

    .

. I have done that before too. One time someone posted about finding a cat lying on the ground, and I thought she was talking about the animal too.. Thanks for answering me. I kind of thought that was how it would be but wanted to make sure.

And then there are the newbies that come here and are too embarrassed to ask why cats are spitting out of machines...

Yes, or I found a cat lying on the ground, it had tire marks on it, but I picked it up anyway.

I agree that it won't affect most promo's, but if they get a manager or cashier that happens to know about the anti kick-back law, they could argue that giving them the RR's, or ecb's would be against federal law.

I don't see it happening, but the way couponing has been in the spotlight, you just never know.

I agree but I think the difference between the gift card deals, and the cats or RR is that the gift cards could be used to purchase cigarettes or beer and most cats prohibit that. Mine even prohibit buying dairy, not sure what they have against cows here in Iowa

Yeah, I agree. I don't think it'll be a problem, but, at the same time, alls it would take is for TLC to feature a FS recipient making their FS's stretch doing such deals & then who know what will happen.

I'm SO against FS recipients being penalized for making their $'s stretch, but...that's our Gubment™ for ya.

I also thought you meant pets! :D Our family gets food stamps, and I get cats and OYNO's all the time. I think it's based on a point of sale calculator, not how you pay. My stepmom works for the Kroger company, and she may know more. I stretch ours as far as they go, and I've had several cashiers comment on how most FS recipients just don't care, since it's not really their money! Too true. We don't get that much, and I have to stretch it and make it last!
