I hope they never get the kids back and I hope they have to stay in jail for years but I bet they dont...I jsut dont see how anyone with any kind of normanl brain could treat a child this way...oh they said that they had them in the cages because they were trying to climb out the windows..as if!
Its crazy how the media will "spin" the stories any which way. I can tell you first hand, this is not a "poor" area. In fact, North Platte is one of the few places in the country that its pretty easy to get a good job, due to the Union Pacific Railroad's largest railyard being there. If these people were poor, it was because of laziness, nothing more. And you are right, being poor has nothing to do with the way kids are treated.

I think the excuse one of the mom's gave was that they were trying to climb out of the trailor's windows at night. Even if this were true, they were probably trying to get some fresh air!! It has also came out in the local paper that one of the mom's is pregnant. So sad...

Afraid they'd climb out the window? Whaaa? Makes one wonder what sort of activities those adults were engaged in. Just so sad. You know, I know what it is to be the absolute poorest of poor and I still managed to keep my house clean. Heavens, we have lived in a house while renovating it, and I still managed to keep it clean and work a full time job. About killed me it seemed like at the time, but still. Just do not understand this sort of nonsense. I guess at least the fed the kids, that's something. You hear the wildest things sometimes.
