    Default Laundry, Laundry, Laundry...

As you can tell-this post is all about laundry. How many loads to you usually do a day? Do you wait a do it once a week? Do you wait until you are down to your last pair of clean undies? lol.

For us (family of 3)-I usually end up with one small load a day (random stuff). Then twice a week a load of shirts and a load of jeans, undies, pj's etc.

I wash our towels once a week (we hang to dry and reuse). Except for DS which get's washed every day (not sure why I do that with him and not us).

I wash bedding once a week too. I heard on the radio the other day that on average women wash sheets once a week and men once a month. DH lived with a guy in college who would only wash his sheets once his skin started to break out-yuck!

For a family of three, I feel that I have more than a usual amount of laundry-1. DS is is always spillling (that's expected at his age). 2. I think DH is secertly a teen girl becuase he will go through a 2-3 outfits a day that all end up in the hamper. I have tried talking to him about hanging up clothes and rewearing, that were only worn for a couple of hours-but clothes still end up in the hamper anyway.

How about you? What are your/your family's laundry habbits?

We're a family of three also. Here's my laundry schedule

    Monday:

Towels, undies and socks (we all wear cotton undies, so they're fine with the towels)
    Darks
    Lights/colors
    Jeans

    Thursday:
    Towels, socks and undies
Hubby's work clothes, and anything else that's dark

    Friday:
    Sheets

So, I guess I do 7 loads per week.
I only wash the teenager's clothes on Monday. She wears her jeans twice, and has plenty of other stuff to get her through the week. Hubby and I don't have many clothes!

This week, I washed all of the winter coats, so that added 3 loads to my total!

We are a family of 4. I do 2-3 loads a day. Both of my kids are in sports so I am washing football uniforms, soccer uniforms, lacrosse uniforms, etc...

DH and I work out and we usually change at least once a day so that also adds to the amount of laundry.

I wash our sheets once a week and do towels every 4 days or so.

We have much less laundry than the average family. I have only two loads I do: DH's work clothes (which are stinky so they need to be washed separately) & everything else. I usually don't bother doing a load until it's an extra large load. So I do 2-3 loads per week.

DD doesn't sleep in her bed so the only sheets we have are the ones on our king-sized bed. I wash them every few weeks. Towels are used for 3-4 days before they're washed.

I'm a SAHM so I wear the same shorts all week unless they get actually dirty-- I only leave the house to walk to the bus stop. I will also wear jeans and jean shorts a few times before washing. Plus I wear the same pajamas for a few days. DH doesn't wear pajamas. DD wears the same ones twice. If something is worn for just a few hours, it gets saved to be worn again.

We don't have much laundry because I keep it that way.

Mine's pretty minimal as well, considering the size of my family. With 2 teens at home, boy and girl - girl does her own. College girl also did her own for the past 5-6 years and continues to do it at college now, obviously
Once per week I do a load for me and my dh. The clothes we wear aren't bulky.
Ds used to do his own clothes, but I've taken over b/c it wasn't going so well. I'll work on that when the timing is right. . So I do one load for him per week.
Then I do a load of towels and another of random whites. I do sheets every other week.
So that's about 4 loads per week.
One secret that I probably shouldn't mention - I got tired of my kids using a new towel for every shower. Hubby is well trained and uses one or two towels every 3-4 days. But it was driving me crazy that my kids couldn't accept that as an acceptable practice. So now I go into the bathroom and take their used dry towel and re-fold it, and place it on top of the cabinet. They have no idea and think I'm just laying a fresh towel out for them every day
After 2-3 days, I toss it in the laundry...

Ok DD, mine and my boyfriend's laundry I do one day. For clothes it is roughly 3 x-large loads a week I do. Then I do bedding every week only because my DD has accidents from bodily to spilling food or what not in her bed. Then a load of towels. That is roughly 5-6 loads of laundry per week I do. Plus folding them all.

Then I wash and dry my boyfriend's parents laundry which in total is 5 loads exactly everytime. I don't fold their laundry......they are grown they can do that.

Then I do James's half brother's laundry too. He has a total of 3 loads of laundry every week. I don't fold his either......he is grown too he can do it.

So in total I do 14 loads of laundry a week. (BTW, my boyfriend's half brother and parents pay me a little bit of money every week to do their laundry, so that helps some. They just started to pay me like 2 weeks ago to do this. Complaining on my end helped this out greatly! )

6 loads a week, usually all in one day. I hate folding it, so there's no way I would do it every day.

We are a family of 4 with DD and DH involved in several soccer games/practices a week. I should do 2 loads a day, but this seems to always remain a goal. I try to put one load in each morning. I am home on Wednesdays and typically do 5 loads then. I do not do laundry on the weekends, they are for relaxing.

Hampers are never empty and I just rotate through the house to make sure everyone gets a clean load every few days.
