I do 1-3 loads a day. I can never seem to get caught up on laundry. We are a family of 5 then I also run a daycare out of my house and can have up to 8 extra kids a day. I also have a stepson that comes a few times a week. Also my husband needs clothes washed for his "job" 2 or 3 days a week.

and my poor washer is only 4 yrs old has sounded like it needs a grease job it squeaks and the water swishes around now today I set my dryer setting on fluff mode to dry the boys coats a bit before hanging them up and it has a horrible grinding and squealing noise ( much like nails on a chalk board.) OMG!! First my hood vent over the oven I was really worried about my washer now this bit with the dryer, and it is only 4 yrs old too. I can only imagine what it will do when I go to dry my load of towels tomorrow. The noise seems to come and go I really hope it is something simple like a belt slipping but o man wrong time of year for this crap! I might need to invest in a clothes ba or maybe my plastic pant hanger and shower rod will come in handy for a while.. I might need to re think doing all my laundry on the same day if my dryer dies on me. :( My system really works for me too.

I did go to this site and well I pulled the panels off and discovered lots of lint piled up in there and still not able to pin point the main squeal. ( I hear it when the drum rotates but everything it turning so it is hard to say) I originally thought it was the "gliders" because it sounds like metal on metal, but they look good. I did call the service repair man because he also sells parts locally I was going to see how much the gliders cost. I would have replaced them but I think if he calls back I will let him know my dryer is tore open awaiting a professional
I did give it a good cleaning some stuff looked like it might be shavings of some kind near a pulley so I thought I should leave that for him to see because it might be a tell tale of what is wrong. I also noticed a corroded wire and the same wire has the coating melted off so that is a biggie.. I am really glad I tore into it and may be a good thing it was making a noise because who knows what the bare wire could have done after a while. I think I will have him check out that squeak the washer has going on and let the Dh buy a new hood fan. It was old and nasty looking anyway.
Im so glad all my wash was done on Monday I just hope he will have all the parts to get it up and going before next Monday. Keeping my fingers crossed it is nothing really major too.
