Text messaging abbreviations

I have just recently started texting (I know a little late to the party). I know there are lots of shortcuts but don't know what they are besides bff, u, r, 2. Bid deal right? Can anyone fill me in so I can be one of the cool kids?

LOL, alot are similar to our abrv. LMAO TTYL , brb, YW, ROTFLMAO, IDK, GM, GN or GTG, NM, TMI , HB ,, DWI, STF(or H)U OK, That was fun...LOL GL on getting all their lingo!

My sister wound up having to school me in text speak a bunch of years ago.

Funny thing is I swype when I text so I almost never use text speak...I just swype it all out.

At A grade school book fair one year my daghter got the coolest book. It was all about texting and chat and all the abbreviations. I was new to texting at the time so I used it more than she did. Wish I could remember the name of it. It was only a few bucks. A it really helped me.
