What personal maintenance tasks do you hate the most? And along with that, what extra maintence tasks have you had to add to your "To-do" list as you age (I want to know what I am in store for in the coming years)

For me....

Maintenance things I hate the most are doing my hair - takes forever to blowdry it straight, flat iron it - while doing it, I often sit in HCW chat by my lonesome of course....

The other thing I hate is shaping of the eyebrows....of course I have noticed that I get more "strays" as I get older.

For me....

I'm with ya on the blowdrying Doglover!! Flat ironing - that tacks on another 20-30 minutes that's why I typically rock the fro!!

As for the what to expect on your "To do" list as you age - well that got a heck of alot shorter for me!! If I have on pants - I'm good to go!!!

At 58, what I hate most is blow drying my hair, with a bulging disc in my back, my legs go numb standing there drying it.

As I aged, what was added? Hair growing in places you don't want or need Upper lip, a wild hair here or there that has no business showing up, like one on the small of my back??? WTH?!

Hormones, what a joy being a woman, those buggers mess with us our whole lives only they pull out new tricks!

Def. the eyebrows, and yes the strays are all over the place!

Since I am now 32, I have noticed more straight single long hairs on my underside of my chin that I either pluck or shave off.

My hair(on my head that is! ) is straight and long and all I do is wash it and throw it into a ponytail bun a lot of the time. Most times I don't even comb it out and just throw it up into the ponytail bun thingy.

I have also noticed my dark circles under my eyes are starting to go south too....I need to find something to help that out. No crows feet yet but I sure in the next few years I will have them.

Shaving my legs when prego and low blood pressure issues! I always end up missing chunks and getting so dizzy that I have to lay down in the tiny tub and then I get stuck (no abs to speak of anymore) so DH has to help me get up/out.

My head hair is really long and thick and naturally a little wavy so I get it cut into layers and it's just wash, brush and then it looks good all on it's own (like the kinda messy but on purpose look that takes most people many hours of work to get).

Eyebrows get waxed every other week. I could do it myself before I got prego but it actually hurts now so I have to pay someone to do it for me. Tweezing would take a ridiculous amount of time.

Well I have trouble with ear wax. It doesn't naturally work it's way out. So I either have to go to the Dr. and pay $90 or I can rinse out my own. It involves an ear syringe and very warm water - I usually end up wet all over.
Now my dd has the same issue and even at nearly 19 she can't do her own. She comes home from college and asks me to do the dreadful task.
It's definitely my least favorite thing with hair plukin' at a close second.
Not that I hate to pluck, but just the fact that I have to do it. Wish I could just be "natural" sometimes - but that just can't happen.

Im with Jessi. I have long hair, so I usually just get out of the shower, brush it out and it goes straight up into my pony tail or in a bun. I cant remember the last time I had my hair down. I grew it out last year so I could donate it. ( inches worth. Oh it felt so good.
Another thing, usually in the mornings I dont have alot of time so if I am wearing pants for work I wont shave my legs. Or if I know, hubby and I wont be spending any "alone time" together I wont shave at all. It will be weeks before I shave. I always tell hubby..its your lucky day I sahved and he gets the hint. LOL
I have hairs growing on the underside of my chin and on my neck that I have no idea where they came from or wht to do with them. They are a pain in the butt. Plus they are black in color so they stick out. I pluck and pluck but it always seems like when I pluck one, 5 more appear.

I rarely have to tweeze my brows any more because they are so thin. So thin that my daughter makes fun of them. They are also going gray so you can't really see them. But the annoying thing is I will grow a really long one or two hairs there. Then I have to cut them short.

I also hate shaving. Not that I do it much any more. Years of using an Epilady have left me with far less hair than I used to have. So I forget to do it and then all of a sudden I look like a freaking ape!

And then there are the stray hairs that you get when you get older. Constantly looking in the magnifying mirror and tweezing.

I also hate coloring my hair. I actually like those 10 minute hair color products but they are not the right color for me. I need dark ash blonde. And the last kind I used was a royal pain! Main color. Do it. Let dry and then do the highlights. Yes, the end result looked really good! So I bought another box. Need to do it again and soon. But then for the winter I will just use a single color. Much easier.

My hair is easy to style now. Because it is thinning (thanks statin drugs!) I have it cut in a short bob with bangs. Mostly I do nothing. Just wash and let dry. It does look better if I take the time to at least dry the bangs and turn the ends under. Got this miracle round brush from Sally. Works really well to style it quickly.

And for the most part I quit using makeup. But I do use nail polish. And that's another problem. Why is it I can't find any polish that won't chip!? I hate to put it on and find a chip just a few hours later! I had good luck with that Sally Hansen stick on stuff until the last time I tried it. It just wouldn't go on right and looked horrid. I've never used it again. And I have several packages because I had coupons. Daughter still likes it. I just got several bottles of new to me kinds of polish based on people's good reviews. I hope they will work.
