    Default PlumDistrict is a SCAM

Anyone else purchase the $130 voucher for numestyle.com for $30 through plumdistrict? Only to find out the voucher is really only good for $100 not $130 as advertised... only to then discover that plumdistrict has no phone number at all... on a Saturday night - bank is closed, numestyle goes to voicemail, and plumdistrict has no phone number.... The bank can only cancel the card which I need tomorrow - to buy stuff - they cant reverse the charge that has already hit.

Has anyone else experienced this with plumdistrict or with this particular voucher?

Not aware of that website, but can you go back to it and do a screen shot. Then, tell your cc company that you are disputing the charge. You say "card" so I assumed it was a credit card, right? They should refund you no problem. Good luck!

Unforunately it was a debit card, not a credit card which I think makes it much harder to refund.

I have no clue how to take a screen shot - not computer savvy.

The bank is currently closed and the 800 number can only cancel the card # which is not what I want - the charge has already hit - I want it taken off.

    Here is the ad:
    PlumDistrict.com

The problem is, once you pay $30, your voucher is only good for $100 worth of stuff not $130 as advertised.

A while back I was one click away from finalizing a purchase through Restaurant.com but decided I needed to check on the restaurant and their policy regarding the coupons first (it would have been my first Restaurant.com purchase).

Looked up the restaurant number, called and the place was out of business. I let Restaurant.com know in a letter but they never removed the restaurant from their listings nor did they respond to my letter.

On another note I just read a big article in the Houston Chronicle recently about how this business idea has really not taken off like it was hoped.

Sorry you got ripped. Not fun.

Learn how to make a screenshot / take-a-screenshot.org

this will help you. go to the website where it has the details of how much you pay and what you get for it. You may have to take a few screen shots. Save them on your computer for evidence.

Restaurant.com I had the same thing happen, but they refunded me no problem.

I just don't understand. This coupon deal is on tons of peoples blogs - have they not done it? Why advertise something on your blog if you don't know that it has any legitness to it at all? Has anyone else done this particular deal? Did their voucher show up for the right amount? Maybe it's a fluke on mine - an error? or maybe I am redeeming it wrong or something?

sorry you are having issues. i recommend never using a debit card for any online deal. it is easier to dispute with a credit card and also you do not have to worry about your bank account getting hacked.

as far as the blogs, you will find that most copy and paste and do not verify. one blog posts it and others just post it because they had it. most have never even verified, tried it, or ordered.

One reason you're finding it on blogs is because they're affiliates/referrals & make money with every sign up. I just changed your link so that they won't make anymore money. At least not from anyone here.

I did find this phone number for Plum District: (415) 777-3757 from this link: Plum District Business Review in San Francisco, CA - San Francisco, Oakland, San Mateo, and Northern Coastal California BBB

Good luck - I hope you get the issue resolved!

Thank you for the information. Wish I had read this before giving them my debit card. They appear to have a few complaints for their "advertisement" - ya false advertisement.

Will simply putting a stop on my debit card and being issued a new one - be enough? They won't be able to get my bank account just from the debit card I used, correct?

Getting this charge removed is going to be hell! Especially since it wasn't a credit card.
