30 and No Long-term relationships -what do you make of this?

What do you make of a woman who is 30 and never been in a long-term relationship, not even 6-months kind of long.

Maybe she has impossibly high standards? Maybe she is too idealistic?

Maybe she just enjoys being alone.

Neither of my sister's have ever been in any kind of relationship. Ever. Not had more then a few dates with a guy..and neither date now.

They are both in there early 30's now.

I think both are hard to deal with emotionally for different reasons which was a bit of a turn off. Also both were not willing to stoop to low levels to get someone willing to take them..if that makes sense. We are a religious family and have standards set that we won't budge on...so my sisters are not going to bar hop or party at clubs to find a guy.

One sister has a doctorate now and is a professor and has her own life and probably has the best chance of maybe some day meeting some one.

The other isn't in the best health, lives with me and helps me raise my kids.

Ditto! I was 29 when I got married. My sister is turning 29 in November and has no dating prospects. Dating is hard these days.

I was 29 before I found a guy I wanted to spend a week with, let alone the rest of my life and eternity beyond :). One of my sisters is gorgeous and an engineer - many guys were intimidated by those two facts, even though she's very nice. She gave up and married a complete jerk/loser because she was 28 and unmarried and thought he was the best she could do (I need to find the throwing up smilie). Another is 31 and has high standards. Not "picky", but refuses to settle.

IMO, WAYYYYYYYYYYYY too many women are settling for whatever guy happens to show up and show interest. That isn't the way it's supposed to be, ladies!!!!

A girlfriend of mine is 38 and has has never had any relationship, and only one date with a guy that I know of. I've never pried, and she seems content in her life otherwise.

Dog, you have all the time in the world. I know you told yourself you would be married by the time you were 30 but life has dealt you a different hand.

My advise, let life take its course and stop comparing yourself to others around you. When you least expect to find love that is when it usually gets dropped in your lap.

Don't settle, just have fun and it will happen naturally when the time is right.
