Default What have your kids said that made you feel awful?

A while back when my youngest got knocked off her horse and broke her arm, a few days later we were discussing it and she told me the following (I wasn't at the ER with them - Hubs took her and I didn't even know til later).

When she went in to get it examined she had to get it re-set before they could cast it. This is quite painful and they offered her anesthetic in 3 different forms. She said no to all and they proceeded, although reluctantly. When I asked her "WHY DID YOU SAY NO?" she said because she thought it would cost us more!!!

aww that almost sounds like something my kids would say or do lol. they know me and saving money.
The other day we went shopping and my neice meant to nicely say i like spending less on things but it came out her telling me i was cheap! Had to explain how that sounded when she said that versus a better way to say it!

The worst thing EVER said (well, texted) to me by anyone, but it just happened to be my 18yr old DSD of 16 years:

"You never saw any good in me, it's better this way. Thanks."

I received this text right after she abruptly, secretly grabbed some of her belongings and moved to her mother's/grandparents house while we were at church. I can't get into all the gritty details, but lets just say this was/is very painful. :(
On the other hand, my other 2 kids do say things like "Why did u let me fall off my bike?". I can immediately see the guilt on their faces--then we hug and say "Ohhhh, I was just kidding"

One of my kids have told me before that I am a horrible mother. Of course that is when they don't get their way. I am sorry you are not going to go do drugs, s*x and whatever you want, not if I can help it. I am NOT one of those parents that "allow" their kids to do whatever they want and then I suffer the consequences, not going to happen.
    Please pray for my family.

jamking - I'm really sorry about that. I'm sure it was very hard to hear.

shelley - I am certain all of my kids have thought that at some point but so far none of them has said it out loud (to me anyway!!). My oldest can sure give you a look that "says" that to you though! She and I almost never see eye to eye on anything. I was a strict parent and they all chafed at this sometimes but that's too bad.
