    Rats.
Do you see any black or dark type smudge, dirty, or "grease" marks on any of the surfaces in your garage? Rodents leave these where ever they frequently travel. If you find those maybe you can trace their route inside your garage...unless they haven't been there long...then the residue might not have built up enough yet to see it.
    Don't use poison. Use traps.

If you want to learn how to trap them well. We learned a lot by watching the TV show verminators. We watch it on netflix.

My 15yo dd just gave away her little mice pets. Everyone in the family hated them b/c the stank.
A whole year we waited for her to find someone who would have them as a pet. Finally someone wanted them who wasn't (I don't think...) looking for snake food.

That very evening she started researching rats as pets... Now she's on a campaign to convince all of us how nice (female) rats smell. How smart they are. How cute...??
And they take bubble baths. And they can learn to use the toilet

    This is my life.
(we have a pet cemetery in the backyard with hamsters, gerbils, birds - I've lost track.

We had a rat in our garage a few years ago and the droppings looked like that. I keep my stockpile out there but now I can keep only cans, bottles and jars. Ratty chewed through the cereal.
