Okay, because I've applied three times here in Minnesota and it still haven't happened yet.

Did you qualify for medicaid or any kind of medicaid waiver when you were under 18? IN any kind of therapy? OT PT ST ect? Did you have an IEP even if it was just a basic one in school?

Is it possible that your parents get guardianship of you?

I ask because if they have guardianship of you....then SSI is a much faster process.

I think they are lumping you with folks who have injured themselves and can no longer work...and that is not your situation..KWIM?

All of the medicaid/therapy/IEP basically proves that this has been the situation you have had since birth or soon after birth.

My sister (ph D in special ed) says...to go to the vocational Rehab office in your area and start working with them. They are a federal entity..so if they can help get you "qualified" as disabled via autism that federal label then follows you over to SSI and is extremely helpful AND often they can help you apply for SSI and help with schooling as well.

No, my mom kicked me out. Right now I am living with friends.

I know this is kind of late, but just call and tell them you are moving and need it transferred. Or once you get moved have it transferred.
