What kind of pay increase would it take for you to change jobs?

Is it better to take a lump sum payout of your vacation or stay on payroll and ride out the vacation if you can? I have heard that if you do lump sum, it is worse for the employee because they take more money out with taxes if you get it paid all at once...but wouldn't you get that money back at the end of the year, anyways? So one way or another, you will get it, right or am I wrong here?

You are right. It's really all a wash in the end. I prefer to take my vaca money and be on my way, but that's just me.

I would take the new job if it will better you in the long run and you can move up in the company
