How many DVD movies do you have?

How many discs do you think you have?

I started collecting DVDs years ago. Mostly classic TV and old movies, but some newer stuff, too. Most of them I've gotten really cheap (bargain DVD bins, etc).

I started out storing them in cardboard boxes. But then 3 or 4 years ago, I ran onto a furniture clearance. I got 2 matching wooden DVD shelf units. Each one holds about 500 DVDs. So between the 2 of them, that gave me room to store about 1000 discs in style.

I haven't counted my DVDs, but my shelves are nearly full.

I need to find another shelf deal, but I'm limited on room to put them. I also wonder how much chance I have of matching the two I have?

I don't think we have a 1000. Probably 200 or so. I probably still have more vhs then dvd. My kids are less apt to bust vhs then dvd so while I had a choice I purchased vhs.

I just sort of counted one shelf ( the outside bunch...it's two deep), so there's about 200 or so on that shelf. In looking at the rest, I'd say we're probably close to 400. How we ended up with that many....I dunno. THere's still a bunch of VHS over there too, but they're not watched much anymore. I know a couple of people have given us some, so we didn't buy ALL of them.

Maybe four. I bought my husband the Animaniacs disc set for Christmas one year, and the rest were probably plucked out of a dollar bin. Seriously, maybe four in total, and I am sure we haven't watched them all. Now if you were asking about videocassettes... hey, that's what was in when my kids were little. Still probably less than 20, though. My kids were so deprived. I've just never gotten into buying movies/shows/series/whatever.

We have never kept that many DVD's. We will watch them until we tire of them and then sell them in garage sales. We bought a blu-ray player this year so the new movies we have bought recently(I think maybe 5) have been blu-rays. So, maybe now we have about 60 DVD's, and we don't plan on buying anymore (only blu-rays). We haven't had VHS tapes in about 2 years.

We have a LOT (DH loves movies), probably 500-700, but never counted. Storage/display space is an issue here too. DH bought a wall rack from a Blockbuster that was closing, but hasn't re-assembled it yet, grrrr. I'd look into something like that. You can paint it to match your room.

Hubby is a dvd junkie! We have well over 200.

The main rack, I bought at Bed Bath & Beyond years ago, which I wish now I had bought 2. Its metal, 5 shelves and holds about 30 per row. The rest are stored in the entertainment center. But I need another rack b/c his collection of Xbox games is growing and the DVD's are now migrating on the top of the metal rack...

We have anywhere between 6-700 DVDs and Blu-Rays. I am in the process (it is a slow one) of converting my DVDs to Blu-Ray. We have a storage unit that my mom bought us from PB kids that we store the kid DVD and Blu-Rays in (probably 100ish). I bought 4 metal stands from Pier One when I was in college and each of them have about 100 each on them. We also have a bookcase that has the newer DVDs and Blu-Rays as well as all of the seasons that I collect, which is up to 8 shows now. I also wonder where I am going to put all of the movies because I am running out of space.

I've been collecting them for over 10 years. I've gotten a LOT of them for under $1 and even free. About the only ones I've paid over $5 for have been several Disney movies.

I watch DVDs instead of TV. Nothing on TV to watch except the news.

DH has thousands...it drives me crazy. I think it's just money wasted since we don't watch them.
