tax exempt status for school band, drinks, and coupons

hi everyone! DD16 is in the band this year and of course they need help with drinks. they-the school band-just received a tax exempt status (it took quite a while to obtain this i've heard) and i was wondering if anyone knows if you are able to use coupons on the items purchased? we would be getting only drinks from what i understand right now. (like pop, gatorade, etc) and for anyone else with kids in the band, where do you purchase a bulk amt of drinks for the kids. i think that there are about 120 teenagers. thanks for all the replies!

My daughter is in the band at school and they are tax exempt. We have no problem using coupons when we purchase items for them. Also we normally just get drinks from the regular grocery store when they go on sale. Our school has a dedicated band room where we can store them when we stock up. Sometimes differnt band parents will donate 3 or 4 cases at a time that they purchased and they just have their kid take the stuff to the band room on practice day.

so you/the person with the tax id number are able to use coupons on the drinks and still not pay tax. i am sorry, this is kind of new to me, an since i am unable to donate my time, i am going to try to get them some deals
