If you have ever bought a newspaper and let your husband wife/child read a section of it, then in your definition you are cheating the newspaper company (fraud) The same can be said if you bought a dvd, and let a friend borrow and watch instead of them buying (fraud)..

Sharing something you buy a hard copy of is most definitely different than sharing private access to digital information.
