    Gossip I think I have a reputation!! :) - 6/3 Update and Advice Req :)

I've only been using coupons for just a couple months, but I've already earned a reputation around town!! One of my co-workers has a brother-in-law who is the meat guy at my favorite grocery store. Last night, he evidently asked her if she "knows that crazy coupon lady?" I almost died laughing!!

The funny thing is, a week ago, he chased me down one of the aisles to find out where I get my coupons. So I told her, "At least I'm not the crazy meat man!!"

    Gotta love small towns!!

I wasn't sure where to put this thread, so feel free to move it if its not in the correct spot!!

Hehe that's so funny - I always look a bit deranged looking through my coupons and pottering about but I think people are crazier not couponing :P

Maybe your reputation will precede you and you'll get more coupons :)

I've been followed in the grocery store, and one of the cashiers at my local Kroger has been asking for my help to get into it. I've never had a meat man chase me down, though! LOL That's awesome! I did once have a girl tell me that I'm a "grocery shopping ninja". I gave her some coupons and a few pointers, and she thought that was the greatest. It tickles me that people get so excited. It does work in reverse, though. I've gotten the stink eye from several people in the line behind me, no matter how organized and quick it is. I usually offer the grumpy looking people the spot in front of me. I had a lady last week say, "that's okay, I want to see how you do!" I saved about half, and she was very impressed. I would really like to teach a class someday!

It would be fun to teach a class! Last weekend, I took my best friend (who lives 2 hours away) to Walgreens and even gave her a few of my leftover body wash coupons, and taught her what I know. I have also given quite a few pointers to my co-workers. Most of them think I'm out of my mind and that you can't do the couponing thing in a place w/o doubles or local papers with coupons, but once I tell them about my $0.33 dressing, free gatorades, and $2 laundry soap, they usually change their minds.

I know I'm not the only one here trying it, since in the past week several tearpads (normally untouched for months) have mysteriously disappeared.... I hope by spreading the word that you can get coupons from online sources this will stop. Seriously, what does 1 person need with an entire pad of $1 off any Fischer product coupons?! No one needs that many peanuts!!!

One week while I was shopping at Target the manager happened to see me using coupons and I casually mentioned not to worry because I have all the right products and sizes for my coupons. She laughed and said she just wanted to see how much I saved. That week I saved over $30.00. She was quite impressed.

This past Sunday I saved over $42.00 and when I was leaving I heard the cashier tell the lady behind me that I usually save between $30 and $40 a week using coupons. She was the cashier who asked me if I had also given her the $1 off when buying 8 dog foods. She reminded me that I can use it along with my BOGO coupons. Told her I had! Love it when cashiers are couponers!

Good for you for saving that much!! I only have 2 local grocery stores - small affiliated food stores - not very big ads or that great of sales. The most I have saved at one time locally is $15-20. On my trip last weekend, I went to Wal-Mart with a very precise list - starting total was $120, and I paid $58!! I was sooo excited, but I had spent a week planning, so I don't think its something I could feasibly do on a regular basis. It was nice to be in a bigger town where no one pays attention to you!!

My cashier at Wal-Mart was so nice about my stack of coupons, she was probably 20, and had mentioned she's a single mom. She said, "I could never do this, though," so I gave her a quick tutorial and told her about this site. Hopefully she looks into it!!

I heard a guy next to me whining about the cost of razors the other day! I haven't paid full price for a razor for a long time!! Between the facebook freebies, coupons and in-store deals, i've saved hundreds on those alone - if I ever have a high value razor coupon I try to use it but if i'm in a good mood i'll offer it to someone I see umming and ahhing at the razor isle! Usually their eyes light up like its christmas!

I can't wait until tomorrow/sat depending which day I can make it out - i'm set to save a bundle - its addictive no matter how long you do it for, it never changes!

How nice of you to offer your coupons to fellow shoppers!! I have always hated buying razors, because they are soooo expensive (at least the ones I use for my sensitive skin). I would end up using the same one too long, and you would think I would know better after all the skin infections I've seen on people!! Not anymore!!

I'm hitting the stores this afternoon or tomorrow, depending on how long my baby wants to nap. I've been waiting for my ordered off ebay coupons to arrive - so I'm hoping they will be here today!!

Well, the "Crazy Meat Man's" wife messaged me today, wanting some help with couponing. She's coming over tonight so I can show her my binder, and the website. I'm a little nervous, since I've only been doing this since April, and I'm in no way an expert!! But I'll show her what I know, and if that helps her, then great!

Any advice on how to teach someone would be appreciated!!

Thank you in advance to everyone on here that has helped me, so I can pass it on to others!!
