I never had this particular problme, but DD learned very early, When you do something you know is wrong, I will take away something of yours. I and only I will decide what I take, and if you ever get it back.
Worked like a charm, especially when explained that the most probable thing I'm going to take is your very favorite, and your chances of getting it back EVER are slim.
I have CDO. It's like OCD, but in alphabetical order, as it should be.

and you should never use any kind of punishment with a toddler and two year old that is tied to potty training. And I mean ever. That is exactly how you cause major potty training problems..is by tying a punishment to potty training.
It is okay to reward a child to potty train...but you shouldn't punish, take toys away, put in a time out, spank ect if they refuse to potty train.
