I'm with you jensmith! I am never ready for the girls to go back. It's the first time I've been able to have all 3 of them around for a few months and we are all really enjoying it.

But we are never snowed in here and the temps are usually mild -that might make a difference.

Yeah I think if my SO wasn't off the last 2 weeks too, I wouldn't be so itchy for the kids to go back. I haven't had a minute of quiet in 2 weeks! And if my schedule slowed down at all when they were off school, I'd be loving it. But it never does. There's always someone has to get to work or to a friend's house, to the doctor or something. lol

Exactly!! They get 2 weeks off, but I still have to do everything I normally do...around the house AND at work! And it's the busiest 2 weeks of the year! So, not only am I overworked, but I don't get any time to decompress! I actually left for work 10 minutes early on Thursday, and sat in the car in the parking lot when I got there...just for the quiet!!

sbp...I think we have the same husband!!! Or else we're sisters! My hubby is normally off Mon and Tues. I used to try to combine my errands with his on his days off, but I quit trying! We usually start the day off with breakfast somewhere, so it's worth the trip! Then I just go along for the ride! If he's going to a store (Lowes, Menards, etc) I'll go in with him and wander around, looking for clearance deals. If he's going to look at a car to buy and fix up, or going to the auto parts store or one of the tool cribs around here, I take a book or magazine with me, and read in the car while he's in those places. I love my time with him...but I don't always love the places we go! Then, when he goes back to work, I go to MY stores...and hit the deals!!

I'm sooo ready for DS to go back. I love spending the extra time with him but he is a house wrecker LOL. He has been eating like crazy too. Thank goodness for the stockpile since I'm recovering from oral surgery and have no desire to grocery shop right now.
I had sanity once upon a time I promise . It was just so long agoooo that I can't remember it.

i feel so guilty saying this but i too am ready.... i love my girls but can school have started yesterday??? i have my schedule and having them home has disrupted it. The youngest isn't a problem cause she is so easy to please and get along with, but the eldest...... At least the quarter starts for her on Tues and she goes back to work on Mon, which means the Mom taxi service starts up again

This too!!! My son actually goes to work with me when he's off school (don't get me wrong, I'm thankful I have a job where we can do this and not have to find child care but...) so I don't get a moment's peace and quiet at all. Then DH was off a few days as well so they're both underfoot while I am trying to do all my "normal" household stuff PLUS all the "holiday" stuff that has to get done.

We also get about 400% busier at work when school is out and we get the "big" kids who don't want to listen as well as most of my normal group of little ones and who want to argue with me and my co-workers which gets very old very quickly. Plus ALL the kids are so wound up right before Christmas that even the normally calm ones are a handful.

I am looking forward to tomorrow when school starts and even more so for Thursday when I have a day off - I think I am just going to sit in the quiet house all day by myself - well except for a trip to Harris Teeter for Super Doubles, of course!

Well I may get to have DD home for another day. The poor thing has a stomach bug I hope she gets better soon. I don't want to send DS off on the bus tomorrow. Just one more week would be fine with me. I still have stuff that I wanted to do with them over break that we didn't get done yet.

DH has been off for part of the week which has been nice. He goes back to work tomorrow.

Oh well, there is always spring break to look forward too lol
