Many years ago 33 to be exact we had a blizzard on new years eve. I had been scrimping on groceries to buy Christmas so we were out of a lot of things. We also had company so their were extra people to feed. Since then I always stock up on flour. You can make rolls, pancakes , biscuit etc. Things that will cover any meal. I also buy a big turkey at Thanksgiving and put it in the freezer. That gives you one nice meal plus leftovers. I keep tuna, peanut butter, crackers and COFFEE.

I just was watching the news and was wondering if any of our hcw family were caught in the tornado that wiped out a bunch of houses or the floods back east? Hope everyones ok.

I am not one to run out and do any last minute shopping in any weather. However most people here in Germany go out at the meer mention of a storm of any type and buy everything! Its not uncommon for bread and milk to run out on an average day since everything here has to be shipped & then trucked to our store.

We have had about 15 inches of snow since this afternoon and its now 8pm. We are moving to Alaska in 58 days so I guess this will be good practice.
