    Default Roaster Oven??

Target has them on sale starting tomorrow and am thinking of buying one. There's never enough space in the oven for all my holiday dishes, most are baked. So my question is do any of you use one for making the turkey? Does the skin brown? Any and all feedback is appreciated. TIA

I really love using my toaster oven cuz it doesn't heat up the whole kitchen.
Have never used mine to roast a whole turkey though, but did use it for roasting a turkey breast a few years ago with great success (it was a small one).

Also use mine for roasting smaller sized chickens, and cornish game hens...wings, fish..etc. Very useful imho.

A little off the subject, but here goes. I've never used one. But I use crockpots for all of my sides. Stuffing, green bean casserole, sweet potatoes (I obviously have several crocks!). That frees my oven up for the turkey and salmon.

I use it to do my turkey every year. It does not brown the turkey like your oven. BUT - since my oven is on with other things in it I sometimes put it in the oven at the end to brown it up. Regardless - it tastes the same brown or not!

We received one as a gift years ago, and use it mainly for Thanksgiving. The turkey doesn't get browned as it does in a regular oven, but it tastes just fine. The absolute best part is having your oven free for other things.
It is a pain to store the rest of the year because it's so big.
I didn't see the ad. If it has a lift-out liner, it will take your turkey a little longer to finish cooking, so add extra time. It's worth the extra money to get one that comes with an inset of smaller trays, if that's an option. We use the smaller trays at picnics and potlucks instead of having a bunch of crock pots.

I love mine - like others have said, it doesn’t brown the turkey so if that is an issue you may not like how it works. I on the other hand don’t mind because I have several people over that day and once the turkey is done, I instantly carve it and put the meat back in the roaster on warm w/ some gravy.

I store mine in the basement in its original box so it is out of the kitchen.

I too use slow cookers for pretty much anything I can - I own 4 of them and actually am looking for another one or two to round out my bunch! lol

Got one yesterday and to me it was a great bargain. Price was $27 and if you also got a whole turkey you received a $15 gift card. So today I'm going back and getting the rest of what I need with the gift card.

Thanks for the tip about the liner Kulis it does have one, it also comes with the 3 small trays. Have to keep in mind about using the crock pot for side dishes. Happy with my bargain, on the browning issue its not a big deal to me. None of us eat any of the skin anyways.
