I get the jar candles at WalMart. $5. Super fragrant. A decent variety (Hazlenut Cream and Vanilla varieties are to diiiiie for!).
I personally go that route. I just can't justify spending Yankee Candle's prices...
I have never bought these because they're so gosh-awful expensive but I like really fragrant candles; do you think these are worth the extra cost?
If not, do you know a cheaper alternative?
I love the jar kind because you can just put the lid on to extinguish them.
Thanks for reading.

I have purchased Yankee candles before. Personaly, they are not worth the money to me. They smoke really bad, and for a $20 candle I do not think they should smoke.
Very good to know! I've bought the WM pillar candles for years and recently various jar candles from different places and they're ok but I was just hoping for something a little stronger smelling.
Thanks for your info!

I love Yankee candles.....I haven't had much luck with any other cheap off brands smelling as much. They are expensive but with the right q's, you can get them for the price of cheap ones. RIght now they have buy 2 get 2 free....so 4 candles for $40....same price as WM ones :) As far as smoking, I dont have an issue with them, as long as you keep the wick cut to like a 1/4 in, as they recommend. GOOD LUCK
If it isn't free.....it isn't for me!
my favorite candle is beanpod! they are soy, so fragrant pricey but to me completely worth it. Also check marshalls or tj maxx - I have seen some of the expensive jar candles there.

I always got my beanpod candles from Hallmark. Lovely scents. Also a big fan of Yankee, I only buy them when they are on special or from the outlet. So far, I haven't had problems with the smoking - I just keep the wick trimmed to the length that they suggest.
I think they are worth it, they are so strong smelling. I can light one and my whole house smells good in 10 minutes. Trim the wick is a must. I use nail clippers. I like walmart candles also but if you want the strong scent try a yankee.
I would never pay full price though, always wait for sales. Christmas is a good time, lots of sales and stock up.
