I am sorry you didn't get the wedding you wanted. I got married at the justice of the Peace because we didn't have any money. When we were married for 11 years we renewed our vows in Church and I just had a regular, nice dress and he had a suit. We have been married for 20 years and we are the only ones in our family that hasn't had a traditional wedding. But we are the only ones who are still married to our first spouse and still in love. Everyone else in our family is one their 2nd and 3rd marriages. So it is not important to me but I know it is to some people and I pray you get your wishes.
    Please pray for my family.
Please keep Elizabeth in your prayers. She lost her Father on 2/19/2012.

I say...go for it! People can do weddings on a budget! If you check Craigslist...ladies who have just had weddings are selling their wedding supplies for cheap! Even if you have a renewal of your vows...and you only have 50 people WHO CARES!!! It is your day!! Splurge! I swear, My wedding was the best...and I will never forget it.

It may not have been the best, the most expensive, the most lavish, the most worldly...and the list goes on. But it was mine. I will never forget it because, I had my family and my friends there. You can get a pastor/JotP/Minister, a cake, a room at the VFW, have it catered, and decorations...all on a budget.

    For instance:

    Craigslist...

In the philadelphia area (not sure where you are located) there are favors currently going for $35 (120 of them)...I would put the link in here...but not sure if that is permitted.

Has wedding dresses in the philadelphia area on sale too...you could look to see if any of them are your size...as well as pretty enough for you to wear.

    David's Bridal

Periodically has their $99.00 sales for wedding dresses...

    DJ

Most DJs you can find between $500 - $1000 but you may be able to find them for a bit less on Craigslist.

These are just some of the ideas you could do...Hope this helps sway you....I am all for weddings. My husband and I moonlight as DJs...and I absolutely adore weddings.

I say go for it as well. Since I was a little girl I had dreamed about having a lovely wedding. I was very fortunate that my parents paid for our wedding. We had it just how I imagined it when I was little. I think every bride and groom deserve to have some kind of celebration. It doesn't have to be expensive. PP has some great ideas. Good luck and hope you get to have your wedding!! :)

I love weddings and I'd say go for it if you have some funds available to make it come true. Don't think you can't have a memorable one on a budget. extravagant/lavish does not always mean memorable. I suggest you set a budget and work around it; ask help from your family and friends if there's anyone crafty/creative. Then relax, think happy thoughts on your wedding day. You'll be a radiant, beautiful bride that day

    Start planning now
