Okay, so we are having company over, so it makes me start thinking about what our house looks like! We really need new furniture, honestly - pretty much every room needs something. But alas, that is not going to happen. I think our dining room table is on it's last leg. It is literally starting to fall apart. The chairs are so stained that there is no hope. I would recover but they have a weird cloth back part that will make it difficult. We really need a new mattress and so does my son's bed. Ugh! Unfortunately we have had to replace a major appliance evry year, so there is no money for furntiure.

So what piece of furniture do you wish you had the money to replace?

COUCHES! we had ours in our den but then i ripped the carpet up in there and left the couches down there. So now since we havent been in the den in months and i went down there to remove the carpet i ripped up and yeah its majorly dusty down there so currently we are realy without a living room set at all and about to put carpet in the house and our front room wich will be the living room will be one big empty space basically. After we pay off the small loan with the carpet we plan on getting a living room set i hope. We just had to replace our washer that broke after a year! We got it brand new a lil over a year ago and the engine went out! So it sucks. Really need to get the kids beds too but they have a bed and share a room currently. We have two twin bed frames in our shed but im unsure where the screws are for it. But those are cheap and replaceable. Really need a bedframe for our bed as well. BUt i think in the end the living room set is what we REALLY need. ive been searching craiglist daily as well for a good deal since we live right outside ft bragg a really huge army base and alot of people that move overseas tend to sell and buy new over there.

I desperatly need a headboard. In our bedroom...where are bed is...is windows...and trying to watch a movie or tv upstairs is painful because I can't lean against anything..and all night long my pillow moves up and up and then off the bed.

my dresser would be next...it's held together for 12 years but now there is a two by four holding it up.

I am glad to hear that other people have this issue! I feel like everytime I turn around there is something this house needs. I guess it will always be that way. We do not have a lot of stuff, because I am a bit of a minimalist - but I do wish our furniture was nicer and matched in some way! I need to be on one of those home decor shows!

We need new kitchen chairs but this will have to wait until the next tax return. We already ditched one because the legs were falling apart. We have fixed them multiple times but they keep breaking. I would love a new couch and recliner but I'm not replacing that until DS gets older.
I had sanity once upon a time I promise . It was just so long agoooo that I can't remember it.

I need these things in order of priority:

    1. new bedroom set (dressers, bed, end tables) - ours is a hand me down x 134 lol
    2. dining room set (table, chairs, maybe a hutch) - see #1
    3. couch and love seat - once kids get older

Everything still works and is in decent condition, but it would be nice to have OUR own stuff that we picked out.

I would say my bedroom set. There really isan't a TON wrong with it, except DH's dresser doesn't match, and the bed is sort of squeaky. I just don't like the style...its a bit dated.

It seems that we're always the last ones to get anything, lol. We just re-designed (all new paint, carpet, most furniture, decor, etc ) all three of our kids rooms over the summer... We bought a beautiful new living room set last winter,...

Now our bedroom looks TERRIBLE in comparison.

Here's something that we did though, that might be helpful for you guys. When doing our DD's bedroom, her new bed was white, her room a beautiful yellow with bright flower border, etc.. And her dresser an UGLY brown with UGLY brass handles. We were going to toss it and get her a new one, but that seemed so wasteful. (and expensive after a 4k redo).
Anyway... we painted it! We bought the spray furniture paint from home depot, ordered some pretty flower and ladybug drawer knobs off ebay, and in one afternoon, she had an ADORABLE new dresser! All for about $50.
And trust me, DH and I are the absolute LEAST crafty/home project people on earth. But it was sooo easy a 5 year old could have done it! So, its an idea if anyone just wants to give something a facelift.

We've thought about doing that with our bedroom stuff. But the wood designs on it are just ugly that I don't even want it. Like I said, it works and holds my clothes, so it has to wait.
