I'm with you! We talk about vacations alot...and we can't afford one either. One time, my stepdaughter said something about NC, and I said, "Oh!! They have good tearpads!!!"

But here's the difference between my house and yours...my husband WANTS to take "coupon hunting" road trips!! He thinks it would be a blast to just fill up the car and the cooler and head out to towns we've never visited, and hit all of the grocery stores and gas stations while we're there!

That sounds like soooo much fun...seriously!!! I never thought of something like that. I'll have to coax him into doing that. I'll tell him we'll stop at an IHOP or something

I do the same thing myself but I keep it to myself. I just know where every store is along the way.

Once I wanted to take a 3+ hour road trip to some sale or another DH thought I was crazy. can you believe he didn't want to take off work. Right then and there I said I have to find a coupon buddy as crazy about deals as me! I still haven't found one. :shrug7:

I totally understand...I was going to visit my sister in Ft Wayne this week, but with the heat, we decided to put it off a few days. I said if we're doing that, then we might as well wait until the middle of next week because.....

You're making me jealous. I have never been to a Kroger and want to go in one sooo bad. My bf's like "it's just another grocery store".....ummmm no, not to me!

OK I do take little road trips with the family (Billings, Casper, Rapid City) and it is just understood that mom is going to find a grocery store and find coupons and deals...just like everyone knows that dad is going to find a Cabellas or other fishing/sporting goods store and look at crap there (and mom won't set foot in one because the dead animals on the wall give her the creeps) so DH drops me and some kids at a grocery store and he takes some kids to Cabellas and we meet an hour or so later.

Where ever we go I always scout out the grocery stores and see if that state has winetags!

Yup unless I have all the kids with me...I always go coupon um...shopping when I go out of state to other places...in fact...I had to pick up my husband in Tulsa and his plane was really delayed...so I drove around til I found a grocery store I had never seen and went it just to see if they had good coupons!

I only have walmart, a country market store, and a save a lot here...even to Dillons...which is a kroger store...I drive an hour there AND THERE IS NOTHING IN BETWEEN lol...except corn and soy and well..cows.

Heck no!!! Whenever my girls and I would take a trip (hubs was always stuck at home tending the livestock!!) we couldn't wait to check out the grocery stores and all the different fun things they carried. Lots of times we'd buy little bits of a bunch of things to taste and go have a picnic on the beach.

We go the Outer Banks (didn't have money to go this year) and I have found them at Food Lion and Harris Teeter.
