Default Going rate for infant care 1on1

My dd 18 is considering a position a few days a week watching a 5 month old in her home. Parent is not happy with the 1-5 ratio in daycare and wants 1 to 1 care. My dd has exp with infants this age.She will be doing it until college starts in the fall.Has always did on a hourly basis not daily. Has own transportation.

    Thanks for any input:shrug7:

We pay $145 per week for our 20 month old (I bet it would be more if under a year old. That is $29 per day for a 5 day week. $30-$40 a day is probably reasonable for a 8-9 hour day.

I made $25 a day when I kept 2 kids for the summer in their home when I was 17, which was 13 years ago; so I am sure it has gone up a bit since then.

Average rate for infants in a child care center in our area is $130-$150. Theoretically you would think private care would mean a higher price, but most in-home "babysitters" around here charge $90-$100 a week for an infant.

I would call around in your area and get prices. I would also ask what the people expect to pay, just as an idea.
