I know! You reminded me of story....When my sister and I were going through our "we our too cool to kiss our mother in public" phase, my brother who was younger told my mom "Don't worry, mama, I will always kiss you goodbye". He kept true to his word - all the way through high school and even today he kisses my mom when he sees her.
My son who is 4 still gives me a ton of affection - I will so miss that when it goes away (and of course, secretly wish that it won't). He said to me recently "mama, get ready - I am going to give you the kiss of true love" and then kissed me with a boyish intensity that was amazingly endearing. So that's it - when the affection starts to diminish, I am going to remember that I got the first kiss of true love.

). He hasn't started the tween stuff yet, so to me is still my adorable little boy (even though he is almost as tall as I am). I still hold his hand crossing the street - just a protective mom thing - won't give that up until he makes me.
