I live in Little Miami schools and they are in a shambles...thankfully I am sending dd to private school. Loveland schools are excellent! I hear Kings schools are good too.
DH and I are moving from our current cincinnati location. Long story. Anyway, we have looked at almost every area in town. DH works in Evendale, so he doesn't want to be more than 20 minutes or so from the office. We've looked in West Chester, Mason, Liberty Township (the south part), Fairfield, Loveland (western part), Wyoming (but a house there is so much money that I can't even fathom trying to find a place there) and Monfort Heights (not CPS but Northwest SD) b/c you can go 75 to 275 to 74 without too much of a hassle.
We struggle with the feeling that on the one hand we want to move to a place that has a good school district but on the other hand we just can't afford a $230K house. As much as I've tried to figure out how...I just don't see it. Even if I become the best couponer in the world...
SO...I wanted to talk to some of you that might have kids already in a school system...or know anything about the local school districts or love the area you live in. Just any advice would be great!!
TIA!!

What a bout Sharonville? I think Princeton schools are good. Or Blue Ash and parts of Symmes township for Sycamore Schools.
I live in and grew up here in Deer Park. not the best schools but certainly not the worst and not CPS. the houses here would never go for 230k. that is for sure. the one we rent is roughly 115k. you might want to look here.

It might be a little to far away, but I think Lebanon is a wonderful place to live. Their schools are really good and nice. They aren't forever asking for money and it seems that they know how to use the money they have. I went to school here and also substitued for two years. House prices are across the board, but I know that anything close to 200,000 will get a really, really nice house. I know of houses for less than that that have a decent amt of land as well. Good luck with your search!
I work in Oakley- It's pretty crappy. I travel and run errands in Norwood- It's pretty crappy too. Monfort heights isn't the BEST area... (i'm thinking at montana and 74 area that's what i know to be monfort heights)
What about Colrain? or Mt Healthy? Fairfield is a nice area, so is Hyde Park (which is right off 71) might be to far outta the way...
I live in Price HIll/Delhi It takes me 20min to get to evendale so..... Bridgetown is a nice area, and RIGHT at the 74/Harrison Ave exit.
What about Miami Whitewater area? Right off 74 too...
Blue Ash is part of the Sycamore School system and that school system does well. There are homes in a wide variety of price ranges in Blue Ash, too. The rec center is newly remodeled and very inexpensive to join, and it includes the outdoor pool in the summer. :)

I grew up in Dillonvale and lived in Deer Park. Great area, but if you are looking for a little more room for a growing family it may be difficult. That is why we left....but the people are GREAT!
Milford is a great school district and houses range anywhere from 100's-300's. I've lived here my entire life and I am now raising my two children here and love it. It's only about 20-25min away from Evendale...Good luck with everything!
