Does Anyone Else Just Avoid Going to the Doctor?
I realized tonight I am just falling apart because I procrastinate about going to the doctor. I was putting my DS to bed and he accidently stepped on my toe (which is infected - I don't know why - ingrown toenail maybe although I've never had one or hangnail type thing). Then when he tried to hug me he pulled on my shoulder (rotator cuff injury - therapy hasn't helped much - need to go back to get steroid injections or surgery) and he hugged my head and accidently squeezed on my ear (ear infection - swimmer's ear I think - just hoping it will go away on it's own). I guess I will make an appointment for Monday.

Good lord woman! You sound like a hot mess. What are you waiting for, lol.
I don't have a regular doctor. I usually go to redicare or urgent care if I'm on my deathbed or I'm having consistent pain. That's about it. Kind of stupid considering I have great health insurance. I should use it since I'm paying for it.

Oh I hear this. I don't go because I don't have insurance right now but I was in physical therapy before and had to stop going. My knee will probably never get any better for not going.
I hate going to the doctor especially when I'm at my kid's doctor all the time with her. I just would put it off and put it off before.

Re: Does Anyone Else Just Avoid Going to the Doctor?
I totally avoid the doctor. Don't get me wrong...he's a really good guy, and I've known him for 25 years. We worked together when I worked at the hospital. But...I just don't go to the doctor. I think it's been about 4 or 5 years since I've been there. I have health problems (who doesn't when they're in their 50's??)...but I can't afford it. My joints ache (bursitis, arthritis, sciatica), I'm going through menopause, and I have weight issues. But...I don't have insurance. And even if I could pay for the $50 office visit, you know they'd have to run tests (aka:$$$$$), prescribe physical therapy (aka: $$$$$), and write prescriptions (aka: $$$$$). So...I just don't go.

Re: Does Anyone Else Just Avoid Going to the Doctor?
I understand completely as well. I have no insurance either, but medical problems from a old work related accident followed 2 yrs later by a car accident, lol. Never been the same since. Now I have a knee problem that I have no idea how/where it came from and other such things.
I think we always put going ourselves because we feel we must put family/money problems/bills/food before ourselves.
