Need XBOX 360 help

What is the difference between the Arcade, Pro and Elite? I have three boys (21, 17, 14) and a hubby who will play (mostly sports and war games). The geek (I don't mean that in a bad way) at GameStop couldn't help me at all.
If we get the one you can play online does it have a monthly fee or anything extra I need to buy? Is the Elite worth an extra $100?

Real quick in your plea......Elite is worth the extra $100, larger hard-drive & its the Premium system meaning you get more features and you are not limited to the use of it. Most up to date right now....

Arcade is one of the very first = Old Version = approx. 60 GB Hard-drive
Pro = just a step up from the arcade version = maybe 80 GB Hard-drive (smaller than the Elite)
Elite = Newest Version = 120 GB Hard Drive

Difference is version/ model and size of hard-drive.

Your best buy will be the elite..thats what we have. Also it does cost you to get online to play ...best deal is the 12 month membership for $50, but there should be a 3 -4 month Free online trial that comes with the system. HTH

I bought the Elite for my son (he's 11). Now they have a holiday bundle pack that comes with 2 games. I wish I would have waited to buy it.I bought the Elite in october and gave it to DS for his birthday. To do xbox live you have to pay. We got him a 3 month membership for 19.99 to try it out. He really likes it so after that runs out we will probably do the 12 month membership.

I wouldnt waste the money on the Arcade model... it wont allow you to save hardly anything on it because the hard drive space is so small and believe me if a kid is playing a game he is going to want to be able to "save" his place in the game.. The next model up is okay but again not a lot of space especially if there are multiple people playing and want to play online...

We have the Elite.. best buy overall because of the drive space ect.

As for Xbox Live... Amazon has "currently" the best price. 39.99 for a 12 month subscription with 1 free month.. so 13 months in total. Oh... and for Xbox Live.. you must have high speed internet.. satellite and dial up connections dont work. HTH!

If the player is not going online to play and rarely plays with other people, is the Elite still the best deal? TIA
