Just bought my first home

Totally excited to post that we just closed on our very first home. It been a long road to get there, saving money for a down payment and paying off debt but we did it and I am just thrilled to have a place to call my own.

It amazes me to think back to a little over 5 years ago when my husband was injured at work and I was 8 months pregnant with my twins and life just really sucked. We we squeaking by on $1200 a month in Workers Compensation plus about $250 in food stamps. Our car was repossessed and we were in debt and had no way to pay our creditors. But some how, by the grace of God we pulled through and were made stronger for our struggles. I had a great support system in place here at HCW (and DAGG before that) that offered advice and tips to help me find ways to save money, pay down debts, open savings accounts. And now I hope that I am (we all are) able to encourage others that are going through rough times that there is light at the end of the tunnel.

Anyways, I just wanted to share my good news with my friends here at HCW. I am just beyond thrilled. Tonight when DH gets home from work we are going to go on over to the new house and show it to the kids and maybe move a box or two over so we can claim it as ours! LOL We are heading out on vacation tomorrow afternoon (we planned this way before we even were considering buying a house...) so we won't get to actually move all our junk (err...beautiful household belongings) till we get back.

congratulations heidi. i popped by the website after almost two yrs and this was the first thread i read. currently living in the caribbean so no couponing here. im so happy for you. you have such a big heart and you deserve soo much more.
