Oh I need help on this too. I tried at the start of this past year to keep up with it. But the receipts just started piling up and got away from me.
Since the new year is around the corner,I want to actually track my savings from the beginning to the end of 2010. I need some good ideas on how you wonderful savers do it. I see my savings at the bottom of my receipts and I know I have done really well in 2009 but I think actually keeping track will even give me more incentive to save.
Thanks in advance.![]()

I had sanity once upon a time I promise. It was just so long agoooo that I can't remember it
.
I was thinking of doing a spread sheet, total before coupons/specials, total out of pocket.
Some of us keep track by blogging either by here or by our own blogs. Before i had a blog i just typed up in word what i saved each time i went to store and how much i spent each time.
I keep track by the month. Original amount, OP and savings with coupons. Percent of all.
If you use the savings amount at the bottom of the receipt it seems to be very inflated!
EB's and RR's you can't count off both ends! Choose one or the other!

I use a spreadsheet that I started at the beginning of this year. I also started doing a blog at the same time. I can't say really which one I like more or even which one helps me curb my spending more- so I just do both.

Thanks for the suggestions and thanks MrsPinecone for sharing the spreadsheet idea.
This may work for me,I just need to tweek it a little for my use but it is a great start.
