Does your household consume meat or meat byproducts?? Mine does, and believe me, that cow was definitely defenseless!!

My husband is a hunter (when he has the time) and we have consumed plenty of venison. But I made it clear from the very beginning that dead animal parts are NOT acceptable home decor in my house.

what i do and my husband does are two different things so i can't say YES or NO, because i don't he does and arguing with him on this is pointless and i gave up 3 years ago trying to make him realize...

No, not a hunter, but don't mind if people hunt either - just really can't imagine checking to see if it is bikini weather by looking at the deer leg hanging in the foyer

This reminded me of a scary childhood memory...

Back in the day, my Mom had "reindeer food" (which was basically rolled oats and glitter in a fancy jar) and my little brother and I would get so excited because every Christmas Eve, she'd bring out the reindeer food and we'd sprinkle it on the ground in the backyard on a patch of soft ground. The next morning, we'd go outside and there would be reindeer hoof prints in the ground. We thought it was magical, and that Santa's reindeer had been in our backyard, chowing down.

Fast forward to several years ago, when I was bringing up this memory with my parents at the dinner table. I asked my Dad (who is a hunter) how he got the hoof prints to look so realistic. Well... apparently he kept a deer hoof hidden in the garage freezer and brought it out every year. Now I have this awful mental image of my dad and the hoof, every Christmas eve, out there in the backyard. Gross!

(For the record, I am a vegetarian. No animals have been harmed in the making of my meals!)

As to the original topic, I totally think you should buy it, just as a gag gift. Think of all the fun memories!

ROLOL! I would so buy it for my best friend in MO, if it was $15. She would love it! We are opposites for sure.

My husband doesn't hunt, but if he did I'd have no problem with it and might join him, but I'd have the same rule as enginerd
dead animal parts are NOT acceptable home decor in my house
;)

We were invited over Labor Day to friends new cabin in the woods. Lovely and decorated with every stuffed animal that man can hunt. From the wifes point of view it is out of their main house. There was a particularly ugly wild boar on the wall. There were around 40 people for dinner and we had the most amazing bbq I have ever eaten. My husband told me on the way home that it was the wild boar and didn't I heard them talking about it.....No I had not. Where I live more deer are killed by cars than hunters. A few years ago a deer walked into the local Cub foods and headed for the produce department.
