Try the health department. My husband needed very expensive medication a few years back and the health department in our area paid for the entire prescription!

Thanks everyone for your kind words, advice and encouragement. I don't have much time before I run to yet another doctor's appointment, but wanted to update:

I cannot use regular Heparin because Lovenox is considered a Low Molecular Weight Heparin and is the safest at this point for the developing baby. They will switch me to Heparin closer to the due date. This was told to me by 2 Hematologists, 2 OB/Gyns, 1 Maternal Fetal Specialist and my PCP.

Lovenox does have a prescription relief plan, but we don't qualify because we make too much money (about $185 more per month than the cut off), we do have prescription coverage from the government (disqualifies us from almost everything including those new/transferred Rx coupons), etc.

My pharmacy mail order plan DOES carry Lovenox, so I can get it at NO COPAY!!!! However, I still have to get it filled at my local pharmacy (at $400/week) until my mail order comes in (about 21 days).

I have to go see the Hematologist tomorrow and have my blood drawn again on Thursday for a repeat of the anti-factor Xa test. I have to see the hematologist weekly and I'm not sure what else. I've been told my 6 doctors that blood clots are the "leading cause of maternal death" - so, everyone has me a bit freaked out!!

Thanks again and please keep on praying!!!

Well...try not to freak out from what doctors tell you...they always seem to give you the worse case scenerio....that is why if I hear bad news, I try to find what God's Word says next....it is okay to listen to doctors and take their advice, but never never get into fear....I try not to exhalt anything above God's Word....and He promises us things will be okay, if we believe.

I really think the enemy likes to attack us when we are at various places in our life, physically....such as adolescence, pregnancy, middle age or older...those are all times when our strength and hormones are changing...but I find that scriptures of God's promises give me strength and hope...I encourage you to feel your mind with things of hope....it will not only calm your mind, but your body and your baby....God Bless.

I don't know if this helps or not but I googled this up:

Full Circle of Care Caregiver Website

--scroll down to where it says:

What to do if You Cannot Pay for Your Medications

--snip--
There is another resource available to people who find themselves in trouble financially due to the costs of medical care.
The Patient Advocate Foundation is a national non-profit organization that provides free professional case management services to Americans with chronic, life threatening and debilitating illnesses. The case managers serve as active liaisons between the patient and their insurer, employer and/or creditors to resolve insurance, job retention and/or debt crisis matters as they relate to their diagnosis and treatment. 1-800-532-5274
They also have a Co-Pay Relief Program providing direct co-payment assistance for pharmaceutical products to insured Americans who financially and medically qualify. They do accept Medicare Part D beneficiaries who require assistance with their pharmaceutical co-payments. 1-866-512-3861

--snip--

There was also this info:

Rare Disorders Prescription Assistance

The National Organization for Rare Disorders assists uninsured or under-insured individuals suffering from rare disorders to secure life-saving or life-sustaining medications. Eligibility is a sliding scale based on income.

Disease Information from NORD, National Organization for Rare Disorders, Inc.

NeedyMeds
