I recommend the following: haveanything transfred to necessary family members, cars, close checking accounts, put secondary names onbills that can't be closed... I pray that I know yo wanther to live...longer....but, my father was given 2 months, andlivedlonger,but, the cancer destroyed his quality of life...please explain situationin advance the child... sick..timeline... appreciate every current moment..have her pick out xmas gift..if she doesn't make it until then the child will treasure the gift as final memory... BEEN THERE! Discuss... organize everything in notebook... I hpe she survives the time...without the pain and suffering! GOD BLESS!

Thanks for sharing your story. I feel you , i was mad becasue she goes to the doctors all the time and it wasn't until she had severe backpain that the doctor did a catscan and discovered it but it had spread everywhere and they can't even tell where it started. We are going for a second opinion i'm hoping it was some horrible mistake or maybe there is some treatment out there. Right now she is choosing to stay home and i am feeding her a all natural organic diet to strengthen her immune system. I am hoping there is a miracle at this point I have two brothers 13 and 17 to worry about as well.

I truly feel your pain. I am typing this message on my laptop in my mother's hospital room in Tennessee. So far we know that she has a tumor on her lung, numerous tumors in her chest, breast cancer and brain tumors. One of the tumors in her chest was pressing on her blood vessel going to her heart and caused her neck and face to swell. That is how we found out she has cancer. She had the tumor in her breast removed yesterday and they will determine what kind of treatment she can receive based on the cancer cells in the tumor.

You are not alone. I know the fear you feel. I am beginning to feel some anger that this wasn't found sooner. I know that is a natural stage that I have to pass through. Part of me is still in shock that this is happening. I knew I would lose my mother one day but not like this. I just want to make sure she is not in pain and I am making it my life's mission to see that she isn't.

I'm sorry our paths had to cross under these circumstances. Even though we are both basically going through the same thing, I still do not know what to say to comfort you. There is not really much anyone can say that will make a difference.

Just wanted to update you all and thank you for your prayers they are really working! My mom is doing ok so far she is on her 4th round of chemo and is able to get around and still be at home so Thanks again and ill keep you updated! 1/21/10
