Donation Challenge! What have you donated this week and where?

I have been donating to my Best Friend Jody she has 3 kids and these past 3 months they have had it really hard Her Husband is laid off since he is a roofer and pays $300/every 2 wks for child support, and she is working but paying on loans from her car accident from 3 years ago still.. Her bills are coming short of being cut off. the past 2 months I have donated over $200 worth of stock to her. Yesterday she told me that she didnt know where thanksgiving was going to be.I offered to help but she told me no that I have given so much already that she didnt feel right taking any more.. Well today is her birthday and I took 12 extra large boxes, and stuffed them full of thanksgiving and various items. and wrapped them this way she cannot refuse to take them. I also make 2 smaller boxes and made spa kits for her and her family and a candle kit for her thanksgiving to enjoy. Im hoping that everyone or anyone can find it in there heart to remember when you see a bin for food drop offs, drop off a can or two kids love corn!! or hear of a friend in need. you dont have to give as much as I am. but even a small gif basket with a few thanksgiving favs. we reap the rewards with the knowlegde that a child wont go hungry for at least 1 day.

I also dropped off 2 care pkgs to the womens shelter.

1 full of soaps shampoos and buddy bars and fem products

1 full of cereals and other breakfest items

I have not done it yet - DF is to help me this weekend take everything over - I am donating a potatoes, veggies, butter, and dessert to a halfway house for their annual Thanksgiving dinner for about 30 people. In addition I am giving them Chinet dinner plates, lunch plates, and cups as well as some Reynolds, Hefty storage bags, plus plastic utensils. On top of that they are getting a very large box of personal care and cleaning items for the folks that live there.

I am also dropping off Food bank items tomorrow for my sons' school's 'Fill the Bus' food drive.

I have donated about 40 cans of soup/veggies and 8 boxes of pasta to the food drive I'm running at work. Last weekend, I donated two hours of my time at the local food bank and helped sort food.

I give most of my surplus to family (I have 4 siblings, 2 of which are in dire straights) but this week I did give 5 pies to DS's preschool for the families they have 'adopted' for Thaksgiving.

We donate to the local food bank which is ran by area churches. This week this is what we sent:

2 jars peanut butter
6 boxes of cereal
8 pouches of tuna
10 boxes potatoes
4 cans tomatoes
5 Knorr side pouches
7 cans soup

There is no way I was going to stop and count stuff out..........
but this week we have donated 2 overflowing cars full of everything from clothes, to food to OTC meds and much more. When I say car.......our car is a a ford focus station wagon and you would be very surprised at how much our car can haul LOL
