If you are Christian, great....if you are not, great.....because many who have read my posts know that I believe God can change anything....and I do. Life is difficult, and many times sickness is a part of that difficult....but it doesn't have to be permanent. Doctors can only do so much, but there are no limitations to God. Doctors do have knowledge, but many times, they don't have cures....just things and ways to handle some of the problems and many times, they don't even have that....my prayers are with you....and I do hope you come to the group, because there, I could possibly give you more encouragement.....life on earth can always be helped through God....because that is why He came to this earth through Jesus.....because He knew we would need it. ...hope to talk to you more....Be Blessed.
It's really great that you are strong in your beliefs.

Religion really has little place here. Hoshi is not asking for religious advice; she sought advice from people walking down her path like myself and other members with health issues. Hoshi's religious beliefs are her private choice.

Please stop with the proselytizing. It is highly inconsiderate of the other members who do not share your religious beliefs .

Hi, I noticed you said you take Lyrica. I know someone that took it and had some of the neurological problems you are describing. The side effects of the meds were worse than the problem she started taking it for. That and other drugs may interact to cause all kinds of side effects. Here's a page of people rating their side effects from taking Lyrica: LYRICA: Side effects, ratings, and patient comments

Fatigue is a major complaint from those taking Lyrica.

Also check the known side effects and interaction of the all drugs you take on drugs.com Check with your doctor and see if you can step down the dosage gradually to get off the ones that may be causing some of your symptoms. Or sometimes just a lower dose still helps without giving you bad side-effects.

I am not trying to offend....and I am not forcing anyone to do anything....but if you will notice she ask for advice.....and there is more than one way for help....you, I assume, only know one way of help...and if that is what you choose, so be it.....Hoshi may only want one form of help also and if she does, so be it....there is much that medical science can do and I am not naive to recognize their ability.....but I'm not naive to say it is the only way either, because I have experienced both ways....but not once, did I want to start a debate and that is why I offered her to come and join the christian group because I didn't want to go on and on...because bottom line, it is truly her choice....but I do care, whether anyone believes that or not and I will pray that she be guided to find someone who can relieve her of her suffering whether that be medical or divine......

Does MS cause pain? I ask because my DH was diagnosed with MS about 10 years ago (early 30's) and has not once complained about pain. He does complain about numbness in his joints alot though.

With early diagnosis and the right treatment, you can live a good, normal life with MS. My DH has episodes every now and then but overall he is still very active, playing tennis every week. No one but myself and his parents know he has MS. Close friends and family have no clue that there is anything wrong with him.

She did not give her religious advice she offered her a support group that would welcome her and help her in any way they could if she wanted. She said it didnt matter whether she was a Christian or not but that she and others would like to help her and comfort her. Why is that so wrong? If OP is offended by that offer then she can let PP know. But why she or you or anyone would be offended by such a kind offer is beyond me.
If you said if youd like to come over to X support group regardless if you are X or not I would not be offended regardless what religion X was.
If I felt strong in my own beliefs that X was wrong or not for me then I could say no thank you but thank you for the offer. I wouldn t be offended.

I dont understand why some take someone talking about their God as a personal attack. But thats a whole nother HUTC thread.

I just dont understand the need to turn this ugly when PP was just trying to be helpful in the only way she knew how to be. OP doesnt have to take that help but it sure is nice that everyone is offering any help they can give.
When your battling a chronic illness its nice to know people care and are willing to help.

I was given Lyrica for my fibromyalgia and it almost instantly, I mean, within a half hour, caused hallucinations and a psychotic episode. I repeated the experiment on 3 different days and got the same result every time.

I certainly don't have any idea what you started out with, but, the Lyrica, while good for some people, can be nearly deadly for others.

Doctors tend to give women short shrift when they present with symptoms that don't fit into a nice, neat little box. My suggestion is to find a female doctor, neurologist, whatever you need. I find that women listen to me a lot more than men.

Keep searching. I know the feeling of discouragement when the answers aren't forthcoming. Find someone close to you to be your advocate. We have much more difficulty being our own advocate when we are sick and in pain.

Having a chronic illness myself, I understand the benefit of help and care.

My intent was not malicious. I understood Selah offered support as she knew best. However, it came over to numerous people (as shown by the amount of reps and pms I received about that post) overtly religious and proselytizing. I think there needs to be a bit more sensitivity to other religious beliefs-- if any of this should be discussed on a coupon board anyways.

I have a lot of muscle cramps and joint pains. My GP ran simple blood work and found my potassium level was low. I was told to eat more veggy's. It is literally all I do eat and couldn't eat any more. I took it upon myself to start taking OTC potassium. That evened out my blood work as well and helping with the muscle spams. (Bananas are good too. But I can't eat them and that's a whole different issue.)

I was diagnosed with MS decades ago. Yet show no significant physical signs. My MRI's all light up like a Christmas tree showing I have it. Life has given me enough other things to do than worry about this issue. I'll cross this bridge when I come to it.

Please do go see the best neurologist you can find! They are so many things that could be causing your medical problems. Hopefully the answer will be a simple one.
Best of luck to you.

Okay, I just want to reiterate to the OP that the MOST important thing here is that you find a doctor that will listen to you and not just throw meds at your problem. Yes, you may have MS, or some other autoimmune problem, but it could be something completely different, like what happened with my friend. She was treated for years for "MS" and never had it simply because they only looked at her disease as autoimmune. Make sure they don't just throw you in a diagnosis box and hold you there like a jail cell. A good doctor will start over from the beginning and ask lots of questions to determine what is wrong with you. Don't settle for less!! =)
