So, did anyonw watch the Ghosthunters episode last week with Meatloaf? The place they were in, had some big spiders...that would get to me more than if the place was actually haunted.


On a lighter note (you can laugh all you want)


One day this past summer I came into the kitchen in the very early dawn...ya know when everything is a shade of grey, and saw what I thought were a ton of spiders on my kitchen floor. I WAS half-asleep still. I freaked, flipped on the light and it turned out to be....the green tops of strawberries. DH had had late snack and forgot to throw his papertowel w/ the tops in away and I guess the cats knocked them down.

I did see that episode of Ghost Hunters. I can't believe that Steve wasn't freaking out more than he was. He is seriously arachnaphobic.

Your story reminds me of something that happened to me when I was a little girl. I had a nightmare about a giant spider building a web over me in my bed. When I woke up, I ran to my parent's room to get my mom. She wasn't in her room, so I headed to our living room to look for her. We had a giant globe shaped chandelier (about 3 ft across) hanging in our foyer. When I passed it on the way to the living room, I screamed bloody murder because I saw that thing hanging from the ceiling in the dark. I thought it was the man eating spider from my dream. That was a loooooong night for my mom!

We get those wolf spiders (at least that is what I think they are) and they are HUGE like tarantulas. I saw one in my garage once and went to pick it up thinking it was one of the kids toy plastic spiders and it moved...talk about freak-me-out! I can usually deal with the average house spiders (daddy long legs) and other little ones but the big ones give me the creeps!

Ok EEEWWW!!!!! Realllly could have done without pics LOL. Spiders give me the willies (all bugs do). GAG! I hate bugs. I hate spiders. I hate pictures of bugs and spiders. I hate stories about baby spiders exploding out of other spiders (ew ew ew *gag*) UGH I think I'm going to have nightmares! You guys are nuts....

i can handle anything at all XCEPT for spiders. don't ask what made me open this thread, i should have known better. and did even, but then thought if i could educate myself a little more that would be a good thing. then i came to the pics! the only nice spider are the dead ones! i would let all the lizards and geckos in my house to eat them when they come if my cat would leave the lizards and geckos alone! but he won't. he thinks they are his personal play toys and will haul them off to our garden tub and watch them run around in there and play with them. i just want to let htem feed! we had a tree frog in here at one point, then we got a cat. don't get me wrong, i love my cat, but wonder if i should have just gotten more toads and lizards? i can't kill them things. spiders are nasty. i keep a can of that kilz stuff. my husband says it is white cuz its paint to kill that mold that can grow. but i have white walls and that stuff works wonders! i just spray'em good when i see one! if i can get close enough. and yes, i won't go into that particular room for days even if it didn't get killed! i don't understand their purpose here on earth. we have vaccines for things, why can't we make them extinct? someone should start a petition thingy or whatever they are called to get rid of them! i'm sorry for your trauma OP, but this thread topic is NASTY! Poor you - I am now freaked out for you! I really detest any creepy crawly things. When I live in HI, we had centipedes and I would go crazy until I trapped them and killed them. I could not sleep if a centipede was in the house!

I dont think its a wolf spider unless its a baby.. A wolf spider with the legs extended is about the size of a .50 piece.. they are big!

I dust my walls and ceilings every 2 weeks. I still get spiders sometimes but I just kill them. They give me the creeps but I defiinitely won't keep them in my house if I don't have to. My 11 year old daughter is a pro at finding them, lol. She can tell you that there is a spider before she even sees it. I told her one time there isn't a spider in the hall but she said she "knew" there was and sure enough she was right. I taught her to kill them too. I think I don't get as many because I get rid of the cobwebs quickly.

To think I actually opened this thread BECAUSE of the pictures...LMAO....I was sitting here reading this thread, shifted in my seat and my headphones cord shifted onto my arm. I jumped thinking it was a spider...

It's a pain though. We get these brazen black, hairy spiders. I kinda thought it looked like a Wolf spider too. Hope you haven't had to deal with them as much.
