I know these new washers people love, but i'll stick to my wasteful old washer. To much of a headache!
So.
This morning, the washing machine repairman tells me that I need to run a couple cups of Cascade (just the old school kind) through my front-load washing machine.
I'm trying to find the humor in this, as I leave the house and my 30 boxes of Electrasol behind me, to go spend $$ (gasp) on some Cascade at the grocery store down the block (overpriced there as well, but don't want to drive across town where it's cheaper).
I asked the repairman about if I could run an Electrasol tab through instead, but he said he thought it would be better without the rinse-aid that's in the tabs.
I have a very temperamental Front-Loader. I hardly use ANY detergent when I do laundry, and apparently the machine still thinks I use too much. I guess the Cascade with strip the washer of any detergent residue.
Okay....and one last thing....I know this should be in the vent forum, but.....
WHAT IS UP WITH THE FACT MY WASHER WON'T WORK FOR DAYS, BUT WORKS FINE FOR THE REPAIRMAN WHEN HE SHOWS UP!!! AAHHHH!!!!!
Okay, that's it.....please send good vibes that my washer starts working again, because we REALLY cannot afford a new one. The laundromat is our only option at this point, and I'd rather not spend my time there.

I have a front loader and a reg washer. the reg. washer was here when we moved into our new home. I like it better than my front loader personally. but the front loader is more effecient and holds more laundry. but washes more water.. LOL its a win lose relationship LOL in my HO... you have a choice to continue with paying for a repairman and cascade.. or invest in a reg washer either on freecycle/yardsalw/ or local dicount mart sometimes you can get deals at sears..
My Kids Emilee and Stormyare my world. ..Have you Hugged yourself Today?
I got a washer/dryer combo with a regular top loader for $250 on craigslist years ago, and its still running strong. My sister bought a $1300 set with a front-loader in 2006 and has spent more on repairs in the last 3 years than I spent on my set.
I can't see saving that much on water even washing 5-7 loads a week that I do.
<------Check out my blog and see how I feed my family of 4 plus pets for $40/wk
if thats what they do.. (the front loaders save on water) then i def. couldnt see us getting them. We do 2 loads a week if that, and my water bill is at the bare minumum they can charge.
