Default Today is a BAD day

So last night I went to bed early b/c of a migraine. I woke up this morning to it still being there.. but going away.

BUT it was soon made WORSE.

DH's truck was robbed. The truck is fine, thank God. All of DH's tools are gone and his gps  He can't work without those tools, and will have a hard time finding his way to and from jobs without the GPS.

The police came, wrote a report and left. He came back later with the detective to check for prints. There were none. It's possible, they said, that the robber did this when the dew was just forming which would have prevented any prints to be made.

I'm so stressed out, my head hurts so bad. DH seems to be taking it well.. but to vent his frustration he's going on a cleaning and rearranging spree around the house and getting on my case to be just as involved. I can tell he's getting frustrated and trying hard not to get mad at me but I can only do so much without collapsing in pain from my head.

I'm on the verge of crying.. I know he's upset and I really want to help but I just feel terrible and all this stress is NOT making it get any better. I'm scared that they may come back and decide to check the house. They're not 'noobs' either, they managed to be quiet enough to not alert our dog.

The police will be checking pawn shops, etc. to see if they can recover anything. I hope they can.

I'm really sorry it happened. Have you contacted your homeowner's insurance? The items should be covered.

Ohh. Feel so bad for ya'll. Hope things calm down for you soon and hubby can replace his tools, etc.

I've heard a lot about these types of thefts lately. Just saw where they had arrested several guys in McKinney and recovered a bunch of GPS units. My MILs Garland neighborhood has had several auto break-ins in the last few weeks.

I pray your things can be recovered or someone donates the items your husband needs to work. "All things are possible."

(I don't know if your family had done this or not but if you engrave your tools, tv's etc. with a distinctive marking, it can help the police with getting your things from pawn shops etc. An engraver tool isn't very expensive and is worth the money)
I'd appreciate your prayers during a very hard transition in my life. TYVVM

Thanks so much y'all. I'm still fighting back tears. I know the chances are slim, but I'm quite worried about them trying the house. Granted, we have a few ways of protecting ourselves inside. It is still a situation I would rather avoid.

Dh's boss is very generous and wouldn't doubt if he gave DH $ to replace some of the tools. Even so, it's taken so long to collect all the perfect tools for his job :( And the GPS.. I'm praying so hard that they can recover that. We cannot afford another. It was DH's father's day present.

    I am so sorry Steph.

Please members no matter where you live, take valuables out of your car.

I am nervous keeping the registration in my glove box. I keep the cup holder open over the cds so they are not seen through the two non-tinted windows.
