Swine Flu Vaccine - Will you get it?

No, we will not. We are Asthma people but not bad enough for daily meds even. We take our Vitamins and right now added extra Vitamin C. Drink lots of Welch's Grape Juice as well.

I now have had 2 neighbors with flu like sympons one of them is a Nurse both of her Kids had it she never got it and yes they had the Swine flu. She is not getting the shots either...

If you are high risk by all means get it :)

My kids got it, and they have private insurance. And several people I know have private insurance, and got it...

Now, if you are worried about whether they will cover it or not, many do. Not because they are kind and genorous, but because a $20 shot is far less than if you or your children end up hospitalized :)

I would make sure everyone is taking a Vitamin D supplement. Low levels of Vitamin D have been linked to an increased risk of sickness/infection, and if your kids aren't eating enough Vitamin D-enriched foods (milk, cheese, etc) or getting outside in sunny weather, they are likely not getting enough. Adults, too.

The feds already paid for the vaccine....we got ours at the health department and it was FREE

So far in my area, the only place that I know of (and my knowledge probably isn't up to date) is the poorest (read as average household income) school district. We do not live in this school district. I do not know of any doctor's offices in my area that have received theirs yet. So, that's what I meant. I was not putting down anyone who used the public health care. That's how my brother got ALL of his shots growing up b/c we had NO money. But, maybe I should call my local health department.

AH. I understand. I know some DR's offices are slow about getting them, so keep checking!

Yes try the health departments...they are first in line to get it...and actually decide if doctor offices can have it sent to them.

It could be worse....there are some states that are vaccinating the inmates first

This was from the regular flu shot. There are people who are going to react neurologically to the shot. On the flip there are thousands of people in the U.S. who die each year of the flu. And currently there's a great amount of american parents who wished they had been able to vaccinate there child against the h1n1 virus before it killed them.
