Well I kind of commented on this in kval's last post, but let me sort of go into the in depth rant about my mother.

Last summer my mother came down with a rash on the back of her neck, which I expected was probably heat related, and told her to go to the doctor. So after it getting REALLY bad, I'm talking open oozing sores, she goes to the doctor. She finds out she has LICE. My 57 year old mother has lice. I figured she probably got it from the people she was staying with and got her the medicine and told her what to do. A week later she still has it. I'm freaking out at this point because I had lice ALOT as a kid and I'll be darned if I get it again. So I decided to do her hair for her. So I did it, and the lice were pretty much gone, and I told her to go home and wash and vacuum EVERYTHING. She didn't, and didn't mention she still had them and hugged my daughter one day. My daughter ends up with it so I buy a Robi-comb and got rid of them in less than three days. So I decided to let my mom borrow the Robi-comb ( btw, this is BEFORE couponing, and that thing costs like 30 bucks! ) so I let her borrow it.. she meets some guy off of the internet, gets on his truck and away she goes, never giving me the Robi-comb back! ( Ugh, I reaaalllly wanted to keep that thing, just in case, but I cut my losses.) So she ends up getting into some stupid fight with this guy or whatever, and calls me and asks me to pick her up.
WTF! She asks me to take her somewhere 200 miles away with no money for gas so she can meet this OTHER guy who she met on the internet and wants to meet. Btw, she wanted my KID to meet him too! She doesn't even KNOW this guy! My DD7 told her she was crazy and that she was staying home. So I took her up there, he doesn't like the way she looks so we ended up driving 400 miles for doodly-squat! Not to mention *I* had to pay to get us there and back!

THEN she gets back together with the other guy, gets into ANOTHER fight with him, and comes back and this time she STILL has the lice AND scabies on top of it to boot. WTF YET AGAIN! So I had had enough. My wife and I forced her to shave her head so we could get this taken care of.

So yes.. after all of this, NOBODY in my family with the exception of my father and my dad's sister are allowed at our house. I TOTALLY understand about wackjobs for family!

Sorry so long.. I just thought you really needed an in depth explanation lol

Wow. I don't understand how people can care so little about personal hygiene!

I just had to comment on this. What self-respecting teenager not only does NOT throw a party while their parents are away, but actually CLEANS the HOUSE???

    LOL.

Reg, I don't know, but I sure hope mine are that crazy in a few years!

Oh yeah, that reminds me of the house party that went down a couple houses over from me last summer. This chick is 15, and her doctor dad and his new wife go on vacation for a few days. Not long; maybe three days at the most.

So this girlie has a little shindig at her huge-mongous house (we're talking major square footage here!) and oh about 150 kids show up.

Well, 150 kids are quite loud even on 10 acres. So here come the police about midnight or so when I'm sure things are just really heating up, and they find:

Every single bed in the place messed up, and the one in the master COMPLETELY BROKEN. Like the slats underneath the mattress had broken in two and the mattress was half on the floor, half on the bed.

All liquor in the house open and mostly gone.

Several super drunk teens in the pool and hot tubs -- both inside and out.

Trash from here to yonder -- and on 10 acres that's a lot of trash!

Apparently someone at the party had a thing for clothes, cause most all of the doc's and his wife's wardrobes had been stolen by the time the cops arrived. We're talking nice, designer stuff. Shoes too!

Jewelry cabinet wide open with the real stuff gone and the costume rifled through.

Pantry an unholy mess -- looked like gorillas who hadn't eaten for months had been there.

Looked like something out of House Party.

Doc came back from vacation as soon as the cops called him when they trekked his daughter downtown for disturbing the peace, among other things.

That chick is STILL working to pay for the damages to the house and theft of their property. The doc is still dealing with legal issues from all the drinking there. Thank goodness no one was hurt.

Well, I never threw any house parties while my parents/guardians were away, but I sure didn't clean up either! I wonder what her mom did to teach her that, I need to learn! LOL.

Well, I was a surprisingly well-behaved first-born, and my parents naturally credited themselves with my supposed 'goodness', right up until the moment my baby brother was born. And then it was my responsibility to make sure he did not get in trouble.

These days his son continues the family tradition of terrorizing the heck out of household appliances (by the age of 26 months he already has dismantled an alarm-clock, his parents' cell phones and a brand new microwave), partying hard until he drops (fell asleep under raspberry bushes, potato plants and nettle patch) and eating anything that has any calories (36" tall and 40 lbs at two). In November he will be joined by a sibling ...
