Try Bone Marrow Transplant. Our Center had done two for this disease and one of them went back to his normal life already.

    Good luck!

My father was diagnosed with MS in 1995 and the drugs available have come a long way in keeping the lesions at bay. The research for this disease is phenomenal and the clinics/doctors wonderful. The frustration of the changes in your life can very well lead to serious depression. Please don't hesitate to ask for help and be aware that it is part of the disease. Your HCW friends are here on call 24/7 and are greater in number than you realize. God Bless

I am so glad that you are back on here!!! I am also DEEPLY sorry that you are going through this and that anyone would think this was fishy.

You have been extremely generous with our trades, and have even supported a HHH auction that I did.

Take it easy. I am sure the stress of Momma being sick is hard for your son to deal with at any age, and choosing the correct words during hard times if difficult for me and I am 38 (no laughing please) so tell him thank you for letting us know, and don't scold him. I said so!!!

You don't know me, but I just wanted to offer my thoughts and prayers for the overwhelming feelings you must be having right now and also for some comfort in knowing that so many are thinking about you. Give your son a pat on the back for being there for his mom. God bless.

i thank you all for your post and thoughts and prayer and wishes etc........you guys have been here for me before (DH and his truck) and someone told me that this may have been the reason that the truck thing happened.. so that DH could come home and get GREAT health insurance......LOL... maybe that is the case....what ever it is, i will take it with a grain of salt and yes i will GO NUTS .............LOL.....

at least it wasn't brain cancer or a tumor..........LOL.....for that i am VERY VERY thankful........

I have a chronic illness myself.

Most people struggle with the thought of living with a chronic illness. They are scared because they do not understand how their daily life will change, there is no cure for these types of diseases, and the diseases usually progress.

It's scary to not be able to move a body part due to Rheumatory Arthritis or Ms, deal with hypoglycemia, have to endure chemotherapy unsure if the pet scan will come out clear, or afraid to participate in activities because it is hard to breath with an inhaler.

It takes time to deal with and accept the diagnosis of a chronic illness. While the person works at this, they must also endure the physical care end (appointments, medicine, monitoring, etc). It can be exhausting. I understand. We'll never have a day off and it is up to use to manage our own health care (which adds to the aforementioned strain).

Yes, you have MS. You can not change this. However, I implore you to not let this disease define you (even those days when it is impossible). You define your illness. The reality is most chronic illness patients work hard to hold off the progression of their illness waiting for a cure and to live longer.

Fight to live not only for yourself but for your child. Educate yourself to understand your disease, to evaluate your health care plan and progression, and to provide the very best care for yourself. Give yourself room to understand your diagnosis and grieve. Allowing others to help you does not mean your illness has won; it is the wisdom of understanding you've had a marathon thrown upon you. Marathons are exhausting and everyone hits the brick wall.

Others may not have your diagnosis; we have the same struggle. Feel to call upon those of us if needed.

I know you are physically hurting & grieving over new diagnosis-multiple. I am praying for you to get some Christian female friends. It is so hard to make them when you are this ill, so you'll know it will be a miracle.
Please CONSIDER getting a Geriatric MD for your Internal Medicine, or Primary Care Doctor. I am a nurse, and it took me years & thousands of dollars to figure that out. I am young, & had MANY things wrong at once. Several that could lead to death. All of the DR's wanted to send me to a different doctor for each thing wrong. No one knew what meds I was on, or what was going on.

A Geriatiric MD is used to dealing with the elderly who have multiple organ problems, like you, & are patient. They REALLY helped me & still do. Right now, you are at your worst. As you rest & decrease your stress, some things will improve. It really will. Be very gentle with yourself, & refuse all self blaming thoughts. Avoid the temptation of thinking it will never get better. Some conditions will improve. The MS can have symptoms managed & there are shots you can take at home when you feel better.

Check & see if your insurance covers visiting nurses. You NEED someone coming into your home to assess you frequently, & give you resources to help at home. You'll need to get a disability attorney soon to get social security disablility for MS, after you have that for 2 years, then you can get Medicare-Yes you can at age 34. You'll need assistance with financial programs & resources. MS care & meds are very expensive, & have bankrupted some who didn't get help right away. That is why I am being so honest with you, to help you avoid financial drain... Big Hugs to you.
