What can be done with a large amount of 3-ring binders?

I am cleaning out the office I work at and there are tons of 3-ring binders, 1", 2", 3", 4" etc, and I'm wondering if there's anything I could do to save them from heading to the dump.
They're from different companies that have given us their sales info/data/samples/etc.

Anybody have ideas?

Find a teacher - any teacher - and s/he will be happy to take them off your hands.

We're doing the same thing here and I'm holding onto them for my kids. The binders they use seem to break every 3 or 4 months.

1. You could maybe donate them to a school or some charity org that teaches classes.

2. Advertise them on craigslist.

3. If you are crafty, sew fabric covers with an extra pocket or two and sell them as coupon binders here.

I would say....give them to a teacher or a school system....

I use one for my bank register that the bank mails me.
The other I use for a calendar and then keep important info in the.
You could do birthday, anniversary & then get a pocket for cards.

We have a local program that puts together backpacks for kids in need - they distribute in Late Aug-Early Sept. There may be a similar program near you - what an opportunity to spread love and help many children when they really need it!

I took a crafty class once on how to make fabric covered albums, using regular ring binders. My mom and her friend make albums to sell for all different occassions. For weddings, new babies, etc.

Don't toss them - you'll think of something to use them for!

I use them to organize EVERTHING from pictures, recipes, coupons, important papers - I love a binder! I think I was a student for too long....

I called the local elementary school and they said they'd love to figure out a way to use them!
I'm going into work and start sorting them out!
