Does anyone know about the foods for WIC in NJ? I'm currently pregnant and I'm a vegetarian who can't drink milk, but uses soy milk instead. I have to apply and just haven't done it yet.....

I dont really know the answer but really just trying to bump so maybe someone does
anyways, I am not in NJ but here in SC WIC provides for 2% milk. when I was preg with DD they substituted whole milk instead since I had hyperemesis and was losing weight.... maybe they could substitute the soy, but I really have no idea :shrug7:
...I just did a quick goole for "substitute soy WIC" and found this
How to Determine if a Soy-Based Beverage Meets the Nutrient Requirements to Qualify as anAuthorized Milk Substitute in WIC
......
for an authorizedmilk substitute in WIC, per the WIC food package interim rule.
....
here http://www.nal.usda.gov/wicworks/Lea...oybeverage.pdf
so... basically...I really didnt understand the whole document, but it looks like they can sub soy milk, but I would ask at the WIC office :shrug7:
