    Default Dog yeast?

Has anyone ever had a dog with yeast and successfully gotten rid of it(yeast)?

Yes go to the vet and get ketoconizal I'm sure that is not the way to spell it but it is said that way. But more importatly Yeast can be a sign of allergies and we can not get rid of those.

I'm pretty sure it's not allergies because she started having problems with yeast in her ears when she finished taking antibotics for her bladder infection.

I have been doing yogurt for a week now along with probiotics and things do not look like they are improving. In fact my other dog has got it now.

My dal used to have one almost all the time. I would clean them, put in drops, etc. and he still got them. I finally cleaned them everyday and did the drops for about 3 months and finally got rid of it. I still had to clean them every day and do drops about once a week but it did keep it under control.

I've heard of yeast being in the ears. My dog has gotten this over and over but the only way to get rid of it is to flush the ears, clean them out with q-tips and cotton balls and get the medication (white drops) at the vet.

It's not just her ears it's also on her under belly.

    Things I've tried:

Apple cider vineagar in her water
    vinegar rinse for the ears
    borax bath
all raw diet ( back to dog food cause it didn't work)
    garlic salt for the ears
    vinegar bath
head band to hold her ears back for drying

I really don't want to give her steriods because I've read it can make the problem worse.

Antibotics is what started this so I'm trying to stay away from vet medicine.

Anyone out there who has naturally cured this nasty fungi?

I really urge you to go back to the vet. I have a choco lab/sharpai mix who has fought yeast for years. I tried every trick in the book so to say. and finally went to the vet. He is on staroids full time know and ketoconizal when he has a flair up of yeast. He lost his hair from his flanks back which fianally grew back. But the vet thinks the infection in the ears was so bad he lost some of his hearing. poor baby.
really this is treatable but it is a fugus that will keep re-occuring because it lives in and on the body.

Ps my pug had this horrible red rash that smelled on her under belly. it was kinda scaley sometimes. The only way i got rid of it was i switched her from kibbles and bits(and purina) to Iams dog food. Her rash went away in a week. I guess she was allergic to the dog food. I took her to the vet and they said it was most likely and allergy and they could put her on steriods but since she was overweight that it would make her more fat. Also they said they could put her on allergy meds and food but thats too expensive for me. When I got a free bag of Iams and used it I noticed the rash went away. Also my vet said try using oxi pads on the belly to dry it out and to wash her often.
