Re: Anyone know what the criteria is for a flight to cancel due to snow/ice?? flight changes due to mother nature will result in you being responsible financially for any changes in your travel plans like having to stay an extra night in a hotel.
(flight changes due to their own service problems should be taken care of by them, but you probably have to cry before they assist you and offer anything)
Whether the change is mother nature or their fault, there should never be an additional charge for changing to another flight. If they ever did something so stupid, argue until you turn blue.
HTH!
Unless you change your flight plan before heading to the airport, always show up for your scheduled flight anyhow, even if the weather is wishy-washy. If the flight was overbooked, those that showed up will get your seats and you'll be delayed.
Know that after you've checked in, and they've overbooked and ask for volunteers that you should wait until they get desperate for volunteers and they'll raise the $$ offered. Also know that if you volunteer and change flights they may tell you that they'll take your luggage off the plane, but that's a lie. It will be waiting for you at your destination. (would you want to pull all that heavy luggage off to find someones bag just by a description? those baggage handlers need to get to loading the next plane, nobody wants a plane delayed because it takes too long to load the luggage).
At your destination they will secure your baggage after everyone has taken their luggage and yours is left on it's 1,000,000 time around the carousel!
And always remember when it comes to safety of flying in storms...LATE IS BETTER THAN NEVER! |
